Surprisingly excellent value, versatility, ease of use and functionality.
I was a fairly skeptical going in about the quality of this microscope as I had purchased on of the scopes that was hand and app controlled in the past and felt it to be a waste of money. I took the dive on this one because I was curious how the LCD side lights and other features would make a digital experience.I was really surprised ultimately by the quality of the unit when I plugged it in. The display is off high quality such that whatever is in focus in the microscope is crisp.Battery life is great. I used it for a good bit of time over two days and still had all 3 bars of battery. I got this to use with my father, a retired high-level scientist and he was similarly impressed. The accessories and controls add to the experience, particularly the side lights, which really help with precision and image quality in suboptimal situations. The pics I included show the corner of a vintage card I have, which will better allow me if I want to spend the $20 to get it professionally graded as well as the middle, so you can see how sharp the dots of color are. If you have a card or coin collection, this can save a good deal on assessment.I DO wish the manual was more substantial, as some users might want that off the bat to have the best out of the box experience. So, really, what I'm saying, is that if you are looking to shell out for a PC microscope in this price range, you shouldn't hesitate to put this guy on your short list

A very useful unit with all the added pieces.
This is a review of the 7 inch screen "coin" microscope. It is a basic unit with add on's to finish the job. The lights on the base are not really useful as they are hard to aim and just add glare. The battery provides power for a very short time, so for a useful device a usb phone charger power supply and the 6 inch extension will be needed. The remote control is very useful using high magnification as space under the screen gets very crowded. Setting the unit height sets the base magnification, the camera adjustment sets the internal focus of the image. The settings adjustment allows much better images at the cost of less photos per memory card. Under full power, .2 millimeter fills the whole screen with a clear image. Widest angle allows images full screen of a coin the size of a silver dollar.

Pretty decent for beginners, though overpriced
It isn't bad overall. It has a pretty good picture and is very easy to set up and use out of the box. I can not say whether or not it can actually zoom to 1200x, but certainly not in its current design. More on that later. I got this for coin hunting. This scope does well for beginners like myself. However, there are many things I would change.Magnification:Pros - it has a wide range and great picture. Zoom is two tiered and simple to use. It is very easy to zoom in and out in small incrementsCons - The riser is short and does not allow a wide field of view when all the way up. It makes it difficult to capture an entire coin on screen. When zoomed in all the way, the lens protector is in the way of further magnification or subject manipulation.I would replace the riser with a taller piece. A shorter lens protector would allow more zoom as well.I used basswood to raise everything 5 inches and it gave me a lot more versatility when needed.Lighting:Pros - The lighting is very bright, perhaps too bright. The additional lights can be helpful.Cons - A backlight or some other indirect lighting would give less glare and more natural illumination. The flexible conduit is a little difficult to position, and could be a few inches longer for positioning. They are very bright when it comes to additional lighting, and opaque lenses would be very helpful.I added masking tape to soften and spread the light which reduced glare a lot for better pictures.Additional: The aluminum plate is nice, but it is too reflective for the lighting. A black foam rubber mat like the one I added would be a big help.Connectivity and controls:The remote is simple and easy to use. A longer cord would be great, cordless would be even better. Touchscreens are extremely inexpensive, and would help make this a better buy.The main buttons on the display might be better on the top.I connected the microscope directly to my laptop and was given the choice of mass storage access, charging, or PC camera. However, I have not yet found a way to switch between the three without unplugging the USB cable - which turns off the microscope. On the plus side, with the Windows camera app taking the pictures I can quickly move the pictures to where I need them without messing with the SD card. This microscope isn't a bad option, especially for a first unit in hobbies. It performs well and is easy to use. But there are several inexpensive ways this could be improved to make it worth the purchase price.

Super Cute Microscrope for Soldering
Please read the little book this thing comes with, lots of good info. Picture quality is really good, good enough for me to solder. The light attached to the microscope has a dimmer along with a light hood to reduce glare. You can record images/video with this and the SD card it comes with on highest settings allows for 99,999 images. I attached two images of an SSD card, zoomed out and zoomed in for comparison. My only complaint is the two lights attached to the base plate are over kill and not needed, seems to be a missed opportunity to make this into clips or a set of extra hands. Otherwise I have been using this unit every day and the value is definitely worth it.
