Very user friendly!
Once again, another insanely cool accessory from GoPro that you don’t really need but you just can’t help yourself! I mean C’mon this thing is the coolest of cool accessories! Yes add the media mod and of course the Volta grip, then if your going to go that far you might as well grab the wireless GoPro remote to go with everything, (that arrived today in the same delivery, review to come soon).

Perfect!
This was a perfect addition to my GoPro setup allowing me to see what the camera is aimed at on my hero 8. The battery life is longer than expected and the ability to switch between screens is nice.

Charge doesn't last very long but does the job
I had heard about the low battery life but gave it a shot anyway. I was using it for stop and go recording and the fully charged battery died in about an hour. BUT, I discovered you can hook it up to an external battery pack and use it while it's charging, so problem solved for my use. I also bought this on sale for almost half price. Maybe I'd be more upset about the battery life if I paid full price for it. but for what it is, I'm happy with it.

This is a must have for GoPros
This is a must have accessory for the GoPro Hero 8. Keep in mind that this is only compatible with the GoPro Hero line Gen 8 and higher. You will also need the corresponding Media Mod. There is a standard one for Gen 9 through 11. Hero 8s will need it's own version. While this does work with Hero 9s, 10s, and 11s, it is best for Hero 8. The Heros after 9 already have a small front facing display, which the Hero 8 is missing. This display is still bigger than the newer Hero front facing displays though.

Great for self recording
The screen works great and is a great addition to the GoPro. I wish it were waterproof and you could control the camera with it. But voice commands or editing make up for that. Already a huge plus for me who shoots YouTube videos solo

If you need to face a screen AND the camera, it is good. Otherwise it isn't as needed
Starting with the Cons: -Independently charges, not connected to camera battery -Battery indicater is for ONLY this unit, not the Camera -Doesnt show what mode you are in, so if you accidentally switched to photo from video, this screen doesn't show -Need to unplug unit to use touchscreen on camera -needs the extra housing unit to mount to, so that is an added expense. Main, and only Pro: -Screen is on and will not timeout. So if you need a constant screen, this works. Final Thoughts: I am overall unimpressed by the lack of features, extra requirements, and all just to keep the screen on!?!?! It works, it uses the GoPro parts, and it does what it says it does. But nothing should be assumed.
