Q: What kind of converter do i need if i am planning on going to germany? i know that this is only rated for 120v so what is required?

The S-5500TA is a120 V only product. Using any Remington unapproved accessories like a voltage converter with the S-5500TA voids the warranty should anything happen to the unit as a result.

Q: Will this work for sealing mylar bags?

Just watched a video where they used a 350° flat iron to seal mylar bags. They were very impressed with the performance.
