New 42" Deflector Shield W/MOUNTING Hardware Compatible with Craftsman 130968 532130968

This was a cheap alternative to the OEM deflector. It's a little tricky getting the pin and spring aligned when installing it. I've used a mulching guard ever since I bought my Craftsman LT1000 in 2004. I bought this deflector because I was tired of grass clumping when I cut more than a couple of inches off at a time. The only knock I have about this deflector is that the grass shoots pretty far from the deck. Not sure if the OEM guard had more of a downward trajectory so keep that in mind around flower beds.

I purchased this item as it stated it was a direct fit for my craftsman mower. Deflector comes with new hardware which was appreciated. Unfortunately the fit is not exact and there is around a 2” gap on the leading edge so there is a portion of cut grass that shoots out backwards. I think that with a heat gun I can “reshape” that section so that it fits better over the back edge of the deck. Otherwise it is a good product and worth its cost.

It’s a little early for me to make a comment on the durability of the product but it seems like it will be durable. It was easier to install than I thought it would be. I am pleased with the product and the speed of shipping.
