We have been trying to put up extra shelving & racks in our garage...This tool had no problem finding the studs in my garage. My hubby used it to put up quite a few things over the course of the last several days. It comes with a little instruction manual but it wasn’t necessary at all...found it easy to use. It was accurate too. There were no false reading on studs...which is hard to come by sometimes. This stud finder is a little thick but it still fits in the tool box. The only thing that would make this stud finder better is if it was rechargeable. I had to go out and buy a battery to put in it. Other than that...it’s been great!!!

I've owned other stud finders and this on is on par with others in the price range. The only problem I have had is the battery. I had to put a piece of cardboard between the battery and compartment. The battery would lose contact with the battery contacts causing it to shut off while using it.

This stud finder is very easy to use and the accuracy is excellent! The different modes to find different materials within the wall is certainly a plus. Not worth paying $40 to $50 at your local hardware store for a comparable item. Go with this stud finder and you will not be disappointed. I just wish my wife did not know about this purchase, because now I have been handed a ton of items to hang throughout the house!

IT works just right; we miss the water pipe while using this thing. Value for the money, accuracy is ok, battery life is ok

Marsian stud finder is very easy to operate, its 5 Scanning Modes makes it very useful, can quickly locate metal, studs, joists, pipes, live AC wire behind. This thing is accurate and so easy to use. Straight out of the box, you can use it without reading the manual - although you should. It is so user friendly that we were able to test it out right away. So happy with this purchase!

My home is from 1941, and has plaster walls, which require using an anchor, instead of finding the stud, but I always put the anchor near the stud, as well as a supporting screw into the stud next to the anchor. This was not at all helpful. It could find a stud, or it would be at a different width when double checking what the reader says - for example, at 6ft high there is a studs, but at 4 feet high the stud was 5 inches to the left. I know it’s an old home, but I’m pretty sure the studs are not at different widths, or diagonal. Now I am being harassed to change my review. They are worse than a crazy ex. Amazon doesn’t care that they are calling and emailing me daily. I would never ever buy this item again. It’s crap, doesn’t work, and isn't even good as a doorstop.

I found this stud finder to be easy to use and accurate. Best one I have ever used. Haven't tried to find wires or pipes but worked great for wooden studs.

Everything you'd expect, but it doesn't find studs so well if your wall isn't drywall. I tried at the thickest level and it couldn't find the stud. The walls in my house isn't drywall so it kind of sucked; but was able to get a good estimate of where the studs are. I also liked how it detects electrical wires by default. It would also be nice if there was a leveler near the top of scanner so you'll know if your straight.
