I washed this by hand with warm soapy water when I first got it. I have used it twice to make marmalade, washing with warm, soapy water by hand both times. Now almost all of the marker, lines and numbers are gone. It works just fine, only it’s not very useful if I can’t tell what the temperature is.

I used the candy thermometer immediately as it's Christmas time and I have to make toffee. I really like the easy to read numbers, I like the pot clip, the only drawback is that the tip of the thermometer is a little higher up so when the thermometer frame is on the bottom of the pan, you have to make sure there is enough of the product recipe to cover the tip and get an accurate reading. I did realize that prior to making my toffee and made sure it was covered, not a difficult thing to do, just be aware.

I like everything about this candy thermometer except the clip that holds it to the vessel in which you have the oil. If the vessel in which you are frying is not deep enough, then the probe will tend to move from an upright position and tilt one way or another.

I love the ease of a digital one, but my battery powered digital one leaked, battery leaked inside, and it stopped working... this hunk of steel and glass just clips on and reads the temp... simple and I love it. have the cost of a digital. no leaks, easy cleanup, no battery... get one. use a digital if you like, but keep one of these as a backup. seriously.

I love this product!!

This thermometer is like old one my mother used. It clamps to pan tightly and seems to be accurate. It is easy to wash by hand. Just wish it was a little easier to read.

The thermometer works well. The painted numbers started to disappear (into the food most likely) after a few 180F uses. I drilled holes at the 2 numbers I needed and sanded off all the paint. Now, as a DIY improvement, it’s excellent. Can’t do that? Buy something else.

Works great, excellent value for the money. I love the clip on the back that slides up and down for versatility with any pan/pot.

Ahora me funciona muy bien, solo cabe mencionar unos errores cuando recibí el producto, lo primero es cuando lo abrí del paquete no esta calibrada a los 0° tuve que usar mi termómetro viejo para poder igualar la temperatura al nuevo, segundo una de las cosas que estoy algo satisfecho es que se le mete aceite adentro como se ve en la imagen

I believe it would do its work perfectly if you are using a deep pot, but it's just too long for my tiny pot (although you can hold it to a smaller pot by adjusting the clip, it would be a hazard if you knock off boiling oil bc of the dangling thermometer). Should have looked at the pictures more carefully, don't mistake inches by cm!
