Worth every penny
Replaced broken speakers in home audio system towers. Working very well and sound as good as originals. Better than I expected. Can't be beat at this price. I have plenty of Pyle equipment over the years and didn't have high expectations but these these are here to stay not just get by.

Freaked out due to relocation of capacitors
Update - I'm going to leave my original review in tact, but I WAS WRONG! The capacitor is still used on these speakers, they just relocated it to just under the tweeter dome. I hooked them up and they sound as great as I'd have expected based on prior experience with these speakers. As stated in my original review the use of a capacitor is a real boon for low powered systems. I'm still knocking off one star due to the one mounting ear being nearly ready to fall off but I don't think it will cause a problem for me. In fact I may only use two opposing mounting ears anyway on this install. I have used quite a few pairs of these in the past and they are good speakers for stereos up to about 35 watts RMS per channel. I've mostly used them on stereos 25 watts and lower. Heat, especially direct sunlight, does take a toll on these but that's true of most speakers. At least they're affordable so the only hassle is the re-installation itself if one fails, which eventually they will. Original review begins below - I freaked out too soon! I hate when descriptions are wrong!!!!!!!!!!! The description clearly says "Strong Capacitor for Excellent Performance", and the capacitor is also shown in the picture, but some genius (probably a bean counter) has decided to stop using capacitors on these speakers. The capacitors on the earlier speakers I'd purchased were a boon for low power systems, not sure how these will sound yet BUT I HATE WHEN DESCRIPTIONS ARE WRONG! Given that they stopped using capacitors on these I think the Pyle PL42BL 4" speakers are a better choice. I'll probably hook these up and give them a try - and I'll upgrade this rating if warranted - but it just ticks me off to no end when descriptions are wrong and misleading! Also one of the mounting ears is nearly broken off which may or may not effect my installation (if I get that far) and there was no shipping damage. Having worked in manufacturing myself I can almost guarantee that the decline in Pyle quality is the result of some bean counter trying to save a few bucks. Evidently they don't understand that reputation is more easily destroyed than restored. I've used several sets of these Pyle speakers in the past and always been satisfied, so why the change?

Budget price...budget quality
These are priced so cheap I had to try them. Unfortunately they just aren't up to the task. Let's start with the mounting fins. These were way too wide for the speaker indenture in my dash. I had to modify the fins by using tin snips to allow them to fit. Now for the sound - they actually sound pretty good. Very crisp and they have a great bass response. Now for the bad - at a good volume, (not cranked to the max) just a nice "jamming" volume, the drivers side speaker began to emanate a high pitched whining sound. My guess is that the noise was coming from the tweeter. If you are using these to replace your OEM set, be mindful that the tweeter is raised about a half inch above the outer rim of the speaker housing. This made the reinstallation of the dash grill covers impossible. I ended up uninstalling these and purchasing a set of kenwoods, which I am pretty happy with. FYI - Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005

Excellent value. Soud awesome!
These sound great with the 9" screen headunit I just installed. They are also look to be excellent quality for the price. I cut apart the stock speakers and glued these to those frames with urethane caulk. If you don't want to do that, get an install kit.

Cheap
These speakers just don't perform the way I was expecting. I would have returned them but installation was difficult and didn't want to take them back out. Spend the extra $$$and get better quality.

Exactly what i was expecting!
These arrived a day early: fast shipping. :) Great speakers, very eye catching color and very precise sound for their size. I can't think of a single thing about these that is a turn down. The bass is good even before a full break in has been conducted. Currently they are running from a 25 X 4 MAX amp, that I use for the front/rears in my home theater/ HiFi system. Before these I used Dayton audio B652 bookshelf speakers. Although there is nothing wrong with them, I felt I needed to upgrade. Pyle PLG6.2 were a great choice. my Daytons and a 10" Polk audio subwoofer are going into a tower enclosure. These handle really well and are made of a sturdy Polypropelene ( can't spell that :) ) cone. Most are paper, and thats a problem. The tweeters are about 240% more efficient than almost all that I have seen in my lifetime. These are a great cheap PAIR of speakers. Don't hesitate to buy them, and for optimal performance learn a little bit about how to use speakers properly, don't assume you know, all speakers are different, it pays off. Grills are nice addition, really easy to mount and cables were small but had clips on them. I recommend this to anyone looking for a visually pleasing and great sounding pair of speakers. Any intelligent person can easily tell you that name brand isn't always the best. With about 3 1/2 years of experience in the speakers/electronics field, I can say that these ARE high-quality and if treated right should last along time. PS: Thank you UPS and Sonix Electronics for that fast shipping! Update: After alot and I mean alot of testing, these worked best in a ported enclosure. Which surprised me because they managed to reach 35 Hz without struggle. These can really take a lot of beatings, these have at least been moved between 20+ enclosures. The only issue is the tweeter on one of the speakers crackles a bit on rare occasion. Not a biggie. But a great buy for anyone.
