Best $500 I’ve ever spent
It’s crazy good, not perfect in pict black conditions but if you add a 940nm ir light it helps a lot. People complain about latency but I did not notice it at all. Great purchase for all the survivalists and hunters who want something more and cheaper than night vision. It is it’s own HUD, it can display things like coordinates, direction your facing, date and time, etc. I will 100% purchase another to have goggles, however I’m kind of disappointed how few options there are for mounting this to a helmet, if you are looking for stuff like that I’d go to Etsy. Most of it is 3d printed but it all looks decent.

Works Great for someone on a Budget!
Works well by itself on moonlit night. Add 940 nm Light for pitch dark. Works great. Set up both on my Wendy helmet. Dovetail attachment bought on Etsy for Sionyx. Hands free night vision. Setup with a few extra's. Love it! All together cost was around $1300 with a few other extras. Would recommend for someone on a budget.

Nice unit
This is a well made unit and has an amazing number of features. On a moonlit night the view appears like dusk. The reviewers who complain about the graininess at 3X zoom (in very or no light) are correct and is the result of the zoom being digital. I'm going to mount it in front of a monocular and see if that improves the image quality, I'll also experiment with an infrared light source. I would buy this again for personal security and just fun of observing the nighttime wildlife.

SiOnyx Aurora - Great Product For The Money!
This product arrived very quickly and in perfect condition with the exception that owners manual was not on board. No problem! Shot them an email, and they (Bill) got one in the mail that day! I was very pleased at the view with a moon out! It was in full color and HD! Able to pic out the smallest details out to 120 yards (as far as I tried. Likely will go further). The total darkness picture wasn't so kind. Very grainy, but can pick out shapes and movement. This was however difficult at best. Turn on my IR flashlight or IR laser sight however, and the world lights up like a black, grey, and yellow version of daytime! I played with it on 3 different nights until battery weakened and I had to charge. Probably between 3 and 4 hours total on time. I do wish it had a reticle and a little farther eye relief. The picture is very small and would have to be aligned with a red dot very carefully if used on a rifle. I was sad to find out that I couldn't use it on my .308. If anything, eye relief is too short and I would end up with a case of Redfield eye (long-time hunters among you will know that term). The case is hard, holds all pieces, and is very protective and locks tight. I have read several complaints about customer service, but after communicating with them numerous times, I found them (Bill) eager to hell, teach, and provide extra teaching through videos. I have absolutely no complaints about customer service! I wonder if the complainers were asking for the impossible and angry when it wasn't provided. I recommend the SiOnyx Aurora. It's no $3,600 military or police night vision, but for the money, I think it's a great product! Wait until you try it under a moon! You'll know what I mean.

Extremely blurry; virtually unusable
This device mostly serves its specific purpose of sort-of acceptable night vision, but the image itself, including the status text, is far too blurry under normal circumstances (e.g. eye within a few mm of the eyepiece)Things become somewhat clearer holding the eyepiece about 4 inches from the eye, but that (A) obviously dramatically reduces the FOV by about 60%, and (B) makes the device completely unusable since the display shuts off without an eye detected.Focusing doesn't help ( particularly the status text, since its focus is fixed ).Just get a PVS-14 with decent optics. The optics here are utter garbage.

Night vision
The media could not be loaded. The night vision works perfectly. I also added the infrared kit to enhance the image.

Cool toy, not an NVG
Meh, it's a cool night vision toy, will use to film activities using actual night vision. You definitely could not use this as an NVG, it's too shaky and laggy.Update: if you root it, you can up the refresh rate and it is pretty damn great with an illuminator

Ferrari with out a cup holder.
Everything works great but I don't think it would cost them much to incorporate a UV light for pitch black situations. Had too buy a Separate hand held UV flashlight to accommodate,.. little clumsy but it's still very much a bang for the buck considering features and performance.
