The 15 Fundamental Laws of De-escalation: How To Put Out Fires, Not Start Them Paperback – May 18, 2020

I picked this book up off a desk at a crisis call center where I volunteer. I read the whole thing in between calls on my shift. Bought my own copy. I love that it is short, to the point, and offers common sense advice...not just to people in settings where they encounter confrontation, but for people who encounter people. There is one law that resonated with me in particular, Seek Harmony, not Balance. I am always trying to provide balance to my spouse when he is hot about some topic at hand...which drives him crazy, and makes him feel not heard. Instead, learning to seek Harmony in those situations allows him to be heard...and I don't have to compromise my own thoughts and feelings in that moment. Priceless advice.

Good book with helpful de-escalation techniques and tips for dealing with various situations. I highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with difficult situations.

The book is very easy to read and understand, very informative and helpful incites. A must have if dealing in confrontational environments.

This is a perfect addition to the communicator's library.

Mr. King has been able to gather and clarify this list to make it easy to read, understand and utilize. Great to have on hand and review, especially if you are faced with the task of de-escalating others often.

I can't complain too much as I only paid $10.00 but TEN blank pages out of only 54 pages - not including several half pages is a little disappointing. I mean you wanted to be an author and clearly self- published it in order to claim your an author right? Maybe double space, add some pictures and use larger font too (all tricks to make it appear longer) might as well, your going in that direction. But just throwing in blank pages in random fashion is really odd and Ten blank pages come on, so 1/3 book is blank Jesus! Maybe create an updated version-come on man do better, this is almost a "booklet" or a 30 page PDF at best. Yes, I did not like the ten blank pages and the six half pages when there is only 54, that didn't go over to well with me. Just over this as a free download or price it at 1.00

A very straightforward read in under 90 pages. Brendan goes over a consistent and easy to remember steps for how to escalated and difficult individuals and emphasizes that it is not magic but practice that saves you. Thank you!

Excellent Read and Excellent Advice.A very entertaining and educational presentation by Mr. King.And do not think that you have to be in law-enforcement or trauma response to benefit from this book.As an attorney, I really appreciated the fundamentals presented here.As presented in the book, the mark of a true warrior is the ability to fight without fighting.This applies to every day life.A valuable asset in the complicated world we live in.Strongly recommended.
