I’ve bought several of these type of diversion safes - for myself and as gifts.I chose this one, specifically, for it’s larger size - as I wanted them to have a secure place for storing their passports.A larger variety of book “subjects” would be nice in this larger size.The functionality is excellent. The quality of it’s build was VERY excellent. Not only did it look like a real book, it felt like one too.The lock quality, IMO, doesn’t really matter much - this style safe, and the security it provides, relies on its ability to blend in. If someone’s determined to get into its contents? - they will. They could walk out with it under their arm and open it at their leisure - that’s not a slight to this safe - just a consequence of being what it is.My advice? - Choose one with the most realistic “binding” and page edges (which this has) - and with a “subject” that’s common to other topics in your bookcase. Don’t choose a title that’s so intriguing or interesting that it’d make someone curious about its contents.This is a “perk-free” review.

In this day and age, the people of picking up books to read certainly seems pretty slim. So what better place to hide your valuables than inside of a book? This safe fits perfectly into my library, and you truly wouldn't know it were a safe unless someone told you. The safe (which just about fits iPhone 11 box) is surrounded by real paper, making it even more believable. The lock box itself is good for hiding smaller objects such as money and jewelry. I plan to rough up the book itself and the pages a little bit to make it look like an old book. My safe came with two keys which I was pretty happy about because there's nothing worse than losing a key that is holding your valuables. The key slides in nicely and the lock mechanism is very smooth.

This is a great little safe!The star is not there because I feel like this deserves a 3.5 and rounded up.The reason for that is the lock is unreasonably easy to open.One does NOT have to know the combination. The wheels are so tense that when you spin the numbers, they naturally stop at the correct numbers anyways.It's difficult to NOT hit the correct numbers and gets worse with more material in the safe.That being said, it looks great on a bookshelf, is unassuming. The power of this safe is in its deception.In terms of locking power, it may as well be unlocked.I wouldn't put anything too especially valuable in there in a situation you feel at risk in unless you're willing to take that chance with the lock.Inconsequentially, the lock turns the opposite direction to unlock it than it shows it is supposed to. If anything, I see this as a mild feature (:All in all, I recommend it for those who want to go stealth instead of strength.

Everything about this product is great. The book is made from real pages unlike the other ones that are fake plastic covers. The safe is excellent quality. The lock mechanism is sturdy and does not have any give or wiggle room.The only issue I had was they sent the book safe with the keys locked inside of them. I had no way of getting the keys out without breaking the safe. So I contacted customer support and they were going to send me another one free of charge but I never received it.

Great protection, lightweight, easy to conseal and great value not too bulky

This looks just like a book. Upon opening it you are presented with a well hidden safe just big enough to hide some loot of your choice (unless you have bigger loot than I do). Lots of different types of things should fit in here (cash in picture for scale). If I could get them to change one thing about it I'd have them flip my upside-down eagle back upright, that seems weird to me, but I'm sure they didn't know. Great buy, would recommend this to anyone with a couple books laying around to hide it between.
