Angelica is terrific! She makes things that you would think are hard to cook look easy. She explains things in such a way that it’s simple to make and awesome to taste. The recipes are easy to follow and quick to complete! Love it!

I learned of Simply Mama Cooks by searching for Mexican recipes on YouTube. I found them to be authentic and simple to understand. I was unaware the the author published a cookbook, so I was delighted to purchase it right away! Although the book seems small, only containing 59 recipes, it seems to contain just enough to have a variety of a little bit of everything. It does include mostly Mexican cuisine (which is what I was specifically looking for), a few her personal family favorite recipes, and even one Korean dish, all of which I look forward to trying out. So far, the recipes in the book seem to match the YouTube videos that I have tried, so, that is perfect for me, being that, I had to take the notes from her videos. I thank the author for creating this book and sharing her recipes. And, I suspect she has not shared all of her recipes, and thus might want to expand her collection. Perhaps she can make an entire cookbook with Korean recipes as well, if she has any others. Personally, I think she can make a three volume set. One with Mexican cuisine only, one with personal family favorites, and one with Korean cuisine! I think that would be awesome!

I grew up not wanting to learn how to cook some staple Mexican food like Mexican rice, flour tortillas and mole. When my grandmother passed I knew I not only lost her but my chance in learning how to cook the delicious food she made for me growing up.As an adult, I turned to YouTube to find recipes and found Angelica! Her videos were so helpful. Her calm voice gives clear instructions while she prepares a dish. I turned to her YouTube channel every time I wanted to cook but couldn’t remember ingredients or measurements.When she announced she made a cookbook I was thrilled. The book includes many Mexican dishes along with other dishes. Now whenever I’m forgetting an ingredient, measurement or cook time I can just open her book.
