48 Fun Mary Engelbreit Designs to Color – printed on one side of heavy weight perforated paper
The media could not be loaded. I have long been a fan of Mary Engelbreit. I remember first seeing her “Life is just a Chair of Bowlies” and falling in love with her whimsical and fun design style (I even once cross stitched that design.) Yes, “Bowlies” is included in this coloring book. While not all of my favorites made the cut, I am hoping that means that there will be a follow-on book or two in the future. Once I saw that “Bowlies” and “The Queen of Everything” were in this book, I knew that it was going to be a great coloring experience for me. I must admit I was a little disappointed that “Snap Out of It” was missing. Most of the 48 designs (which includes the title page) are easily recognizable for anyone who has seen Ms. Engelbreit's work over the years.A few of the designs are a little on the simpler side and might be pages I tear out for my grandchildren to color. For the most part, though, this is a coloring book that I will enjoy and which will give me an opportunity to think back to when I first saw the work. While a few of the designs have intricate details, these are not designs that will be difficult to color. The great news is that the designs are printed on one side of perforated heavyweight paper. The binding is glued rather than sewn but this is not an issue as you can easily remove the page at the perforations. The designs all stop well before the perforations, so you won't lose any part of it if you remove it from the book. All of my markers (water and alcohol-based – fine point, ultra-fine, and brush tips) either bled through this paper or left color “shadows” on the back of the page that were noticeable. My gel pens (Fiskars and Tekwriter) did not leak through and did not require extra drying time. My coloring pencils worked well and performed as expected for the type of lead I used (hard or soft.) I am sure to use a variety of coloring mediums with this book, so I will keep a piece of chipboard with the book and put it below the page I am working on. That way, it will keep the ink from leaking through. You can also simply remove your working page from the book as well.

This was a gift for my sister who is living in a wheel chair but has use of her upper body
My sister said the illustrations are larger and easier to color. There are some smaller art work but so far, so good. Also the paper is nice for every medium she uses.

Cheerful & uplifting. Will wipe your bad mood away.
It's not overly detailed & all pages are printed on one side & the paper is high quality & thick. I would still put paper between the pages in case of marker bleeding. The pages are not perforated but could be removed with an exacto knife or blade. There are so many cute characters, along with uplifting, funny quotes. You get cat's in a Christmas tree, Mary Antoinette eating cake and whimsical cute quotes to color. Some pages are just quotes that to me are still fun to color especially with gel pens. If you are a fan of Mary's work you will love this book.I cannot wait to start coloring. This is adult enough for adults but older kids could color as well.

the quality of the book is pretty good because it has many features that I appreciate
I'm officially addicted to adult coloring books so I have many other books to compare the quality of this book with. Overall, the quality of the book is pretty good because it has many features that I appreciate. The paper is smooth, thick, & white. The pages have been perforated (but I suspect the edge would be pretty rough & need to be trimmed to make a smooth edge) and printed on one side only so you could remove your work & display it. The book's binding is flexible enough to enable the pages to be nearly flat so it is easy to color the left side of the page. I have to admit I have been a big fan of Mary Engelbreit's for 20 plus years so I am happy with the artwork. I'm not a fan of the overly intricate drawings in many coloring books so I am really looking forward to using this book though I wish that some of the drawings were a bit more than just the outline of the original (and that is why I gave the book four instead of five stars). I'm looking forward to another book in the future because I would buy it even though I need another coloring book like I need a hole in my head.

This is now one of my favorite coloring books so far
This is now one of my favorite coloring books so far! I love Mary Engelbreit and her coloring book was no disappointment. The pages are nice and heavy, they are perforated for easy removal and are single sided. While some complain that there is a lack of detail, I think there is plenty. There are easy pages in the book and those with more intricate spaces. However, I love that I can color this book without a magnifying glass. The images are also uplifting and inspiring, a very "feel good" book! Thanks Ms. Engelbreit!

Not wire bound. Good quality.
I bought this as a gift for an elderly woman. She says it's good quality because the paper is thick and white. She says the pictures are interesting, and good for larger coloring tools such as crayons for fat tipped pens. Don't let the graphic of wire binding lead you to think the book will fold flat or that it has a wire binding. It doesn't. The wire binding is just a picture on the cover.

Color book is awesome
Only bummer is my box sat in the rain and the color book was the only thing in the box not protected. It got warped.
