Excellent catfood. Shipper is demolition derby.
I bought this product by case because of an excellent veterinary book, Veterinarians' Guide to Natural Remedies for cats, by Martin Zucker (available here also). When you read the Acknowledgement page, you will realize that there was a huge amount of input to the book from a huge number of vets and feline nutrition specialists. Most favor few commercial products. This was one of the few highly recommended by a large proportion of the contributors to the book.I have three cats. One of them is almost 18 and is suffering from kidney disease. His immune system is compromised, and he eats like a vacuum cleaner while gaining no weight. He disappeared for 8 months last year, and came back unexpectedly. Because he was in the wild, as it were, for so long he will eat recommended raw items like eggs and chopped organ meats. I did have my qualms, but but because of his voracious appetite and the vet recommendations, I am supplementing the Wysong with raw items and a few other carefully selected items from the Amazon subscription listings. It is not as easy to locate Wysong catfood, but it is worth it. This is the first catfood I have found that all three took an instant liking to. While I do not like "pate" products usually because of the gummy quality and the lack of visually identifiable ingredients, I am depending on the label notice of content and the fact that none of them usually will touch a ground-up product. I am totally satisfied at this point with the quality of the product. Then we come to the shipping. The first case delivered had every can dented, badly, at least once. Some of them were partially crushed top and bottom, as if the case had fallen from a height. Every single can. Amazon stood by their guarantee and sent me a replacement case, and I donated dented cans to a local feline rescue group who could examine them and use them before they spoiled. However, the second case had three cans dented. I did not report that because I have been trying to retain my reputation as an honest buyer, and I suspect that continuous complaints would damage that. However, Amazon needs to deal with the delivery service. So my high rating goes to this food. I would definitely subscribe to it if I had any guarantee it would arrive intact. I will wait a while, then order another case. If it is damaged, I am going to have to contact the manufacturer to see if there is a relatively local outlet. This cat food is worth the inconvenience and search.

Ferrets love it
Excited to see it has bits of bone and other things to provide good nutrients for my fur noodles, they took to it pretty fast as well. For some reason they prefer it watered down but that could just be my boys.

Pretty much the only thing our cats will eat
Pricey, but our two cats (16 yrs. and 18 yrs) love it. One of our cats developed a sensitivity to chicken, so I discovered just how difficult it is to find cat food without chicken. After two years of trial and error with various brands, we ended up with Wysong Epigen. We've tried all the Wysong Epigen varieties, and finally just order this one alone. The other flavors only seem to appeal to them when we mix in Wysong's Archetype pollock formula, but even that gets snubbed half the time. Wysong encourages you to rotate among the Epigen foods for dietary balance, but nothing seems to please our finicky cats like this one.For those that find this food too hard out of the fridge, try mashing water into the food with a fork. Softens right up and seems to make it palatable again.

Gets too thick when refrigerated. Cats wouldn't eat it.
I like big cans of cat food for the value and decreased waste. I spoon it into a tupperware and let them eat it gradually, refrigerating the unused portion. The problem with this cat food is that it gets too thick and hard when refrigerated. Once it gets to this point, the cats won't eat it. They will eat it just fine at room temperature, however. And I know I could try to heat it up before they eat, but I don't want to do that. I'll just stick to the other brand of food that I buy.Edit: I was able to entice the cats to eat it after adding some chicken broth to make it more liquidy. That's more effort than I'd like to go through just to feed them cat food though.

Great Product and Price BUT
I ordered 4 cases of the Salmon Epigen food. I got 2 cases of the chicken which is not an option for us because of a few dogs having chicken allergies. There was no option to contact about a problem. The 2 cases of salmon consisted of 12 crushed cans in each case. I'm saying crushed as in not just dented. Ridiculous.

Quality product, but dented cans
This is a great product. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I have only used 3 cans out of this case so far, and two of them were quite noticeably dented! One even wobbled, it couldn't stand firmly on the counter. I am wondering if these are seconds? I will order again, but if the cans are dented again, I am going to contact the seller to ask about this. I would have done so this time, but couldn't find a link to do so.
