Q: Are these meant to be bought as a set? Is there like a left and right side? I ask because I want to know if the tread is going to be opposite, mounted

These tires are Asymmetrical, while they have an inside/outside, they can be mounted on both sides. It does seem unusual but it is the proper way to mount them.

Q: I need 245 40 ZR 18 i see them in description but when i put in cart they say 245 40 R 18 ???

The R and ZR is exactly is the same thing as long as the Speed Rating matches High Performance tires.

Q: what XL means i dont see that on other tires ?

XL stands for Extra Load, and it refers to the pressure tires can successfully handle. In this case, the tires can perform well up to the pressure of 41 psi.
