This book provides a straightforward framework for organizations to develop an effective cloud migration strategy. The author layouts out a decision-based approach that involves assessing the business case, choosing the right cloud model, selecting workloads to migrate, and designing the migration process.A key strength of the book is its focus on the strategic decision-making required for successful cloud adoption. The author provides clear guidance on evaluating if the cloud is right for your business, which workloads are best suited for cloud migration, and how to align cloud migration to broader business goals. Each chapter introduces decision points organizations face in cloud migration, analyzes the tradeoffs involved, and offers advice on making the right choice for your unique needs.migration.Overall, this is an accessible book that distills the complexities of cloud migration into a structured decision-making approach. I would recommend it for anyone interested in understanding the strategic considerations involved in moving to the cloud.

Very clear, and some good insights
This is one of those books which make you think:"This is really obvious, so why didn't I think of that?"Which is usually (in my experience) a sign of good ideas being clearly communicated. This book does not rely on you understanding anything about specific cloud technologies; it really is more a high level guide, especially in the early pages, for how to think about IT strategy in general, and how that relates to transforming an organisation and its IT function to make use of the cloud.I strongly recommend this book to any CIO or IT architect wanting to move some or all of their functionality to the cloud, and also to other senior executives in an organisation wanting to move to the cloud, to really understand what the impact is on the whole organisation. Cloud migration is not a normal IT project, nor is it a normal outsourcing, and nor is it an activity which lives solely within IT.

Astonishingly good
A bible with which to counter the prancing pony CTOs of the world. Worth the list price, it will cost you way more eventually to not buy it….

This book could save you and your company a lot of time, money and effort. Read it, enjoy it
I am lucky enough to lead the architecture function of a major charity in the UK that has started leveraging cloud technology. This book has proved, and will continue to prove, invaluable. It is like having hindsight upfront! The presentation style is very accessible, the examples useful and some of the 'one liners' are laugh out loud funny (how many IT books do that?).So whilst easy to read, it took a while to finish because almost every paragraph made me question some element of my thinking.Having read the book I will keep it to hand as a reference (the layout is well suited to quick access and specific focus areas), a second pair of eyes, for my developing cloud strategy.
