As a fly fisher, I can say that these are the most consistently capable clamps that I have used. They grip, they don't bind, and they easily release. I prefer their anodized finish for eliminating glare, and I like that they come in different sizes.

I wanted longer Forceps so ordered this 8" one, they are a lot thicker and heavier than my 6" ones.Theses weigh 115g (4oz) compared to my 6" at 37g (1 & 3/8oz) not the thing I will carry in my fly vest of belt, probably keep in my boat for larger hooks, takes some effort to unlock the clips as well.There good just heavy and I would say tough 9I should have read the description better)

First pair of quality hemo’s that i have owned. My XL fingers actually fit thru the loops. A++

Unfortunately a design change did not make a better product. The tips are thicker and not nearly as delicate as the previous product. I found by ordering the 5”, 5 1/2” & 6” that this was a product wide change. Now they’re too thick for small flies. I returned them all. Still searching for a longer pair that are small for trout flies.

I purchased this product in an 8 in. and the quality is absolutely awesome. I did return this item to get a smaller size because the 8 in. is huge. I would assume the 8 in. would be perfect for salt water fishing. I bass fish and they are just a little to big for my purpose. I purchased the Dr. Slick in a 7in. which is perfect for my purpose. Can't beat the Quality...one of the best on the market...
