Why Lunchbot MAY be right for you
I don't mean to come off preachy but when there are complaints about what an item is not supposed to do anyway...I get quite frustrated. For example the Lunchbot description states this item is for dry foods but there are complaints that people's yogurt leaked. As my kids would say "No Duh" :). Anyway, that being said. ... We LOVE our lunch bots ...we have five( all Large). Two cinco two trio and one Duo. We purchased last August and used just about every day (four kids) during the school year. I have not used the smaller version but my boys are nine eight six and six and each box holds enough food for each boy to fill up at lunch. The boxes have not stained or rusted and ...true story... Their dad ran over a lunch box with one of these inside coming into the drive way and only dented the lid a small bit. Didn't affect closing divets or dividers. Still in use. :). The dividers seem like they are stamped from sheet metal then bent and sautered to the interior...this leaves tiny open spaces at the corners of dividers. Goo WILL leak. When I put cantaloupe or watermelon in lunch I just line with a cupcake liner and that seems to contain what moisture there is. Our lunch bots go into lunch boxes that allow them to lie flat so leaking out of the Lunchbot and into a lunch box is a non issue for us. If yours will be vertical think closely about what you send for lunch. (We use eBags crew cooler junior...another great item for us ). If food is ever left in the space after dish washing a quick push with a toothpick takes care of it, my kids have left these at school on a Friday and you can imagine the science experiment that comes home to me on a Monday afternoon....even THAT washes clean. I make lunch at 6 AM ... Even with a good hot cup of coffee making lunch can be rough ...the lunch bots help me along in that if there is an empty spot I know there needs to be more food. I can also see ALL the food I am packing at a glance so I don't end up with five fruits and no " meal" or three different kinds of crackers. These Are Not Thermal. Food will be room temp by lunchtime. Please note if you put hot food next to a cold food the stainless steel will transfer heat and " cook" whatever is next to it ...just let hot food come to room temp before packing If you are looking for something to toss in a tote bag instead of a lunch box...then I wouldn't pack anything other than non gooey sandwiches ...nuts...granola...apples...you get the idea. The edges are not completely sealed when closed ( like with Lock and Lock) and some foods could seep onto belongings when bounced around or turned on side. My kids have no issues opening or closing lids...all,though the nine year old refuses to use the Cinco as he thinks it looks like a "baby tray". When they hit middle school boys may need two of these especially if into athletics... But the good thing is they don't look juvenile so these boxes will transition to older grades. No need to toss into a yard sale with the Spongebob Funtainer :) all though the name Lunchbot is stamped on the lid which I suppose could be cause for snarky lunchroom comments when kids are older ;). Who knows ??? In summary ...assess your needs and check the size closely before ordering... If it fits your needs then I think you will be very happy with quality. My only issue is a twenty percent price increase in a year seems steep but as we are moving into second year with them ...price averages out in long run. This year we have a fifth child to pack lunch for so I will be ordering a sixth to ensure we always have enough on hand. No landfill. No plastic touching food...no need to hand wash !!!!!!!!! And once kids have moved on I suppose you could use them to store screws or buttons or whatever tiny things are in the junk drawer :) This is one of those love-hate items. Works for us so we LOVE it :) but it's not for everyone. It's just one of those things you need to overthink for a day before you commit.

Great lunch container used by an adult
I know a lot of people are using these for their children's lunches. I actually got it for myself and am very pleased. It is a good size for me since I don't eat a huge lunch. I typically pack around 500 calories. I follow a Keto diet and it allows me to bring a nice little variety. The picture was the first time I used it. Just for reference that was a 600 calorie lunch. 4 Slices of Salami, 4 Slices of Ham, 2 Hard boiled eggs, an ounce of cheddar cheese, a little over half an ounce of pecans, and some Parmesan crisps. I had plenty of room for more of each item if I had wanted it. I pack my lunch at night and stick it in the refrigerator. The pecans and crisps stay nice and crispy. I pack pork rinds a lot too and they also stay crisp overnight in the refrigerator. It is obviously not leak proof and it is not intended to be. I don't see that as a negative since I knew it buying it. I do plan on buying some dip containers to use with it. It is obviously not microwave safe. So if I intend to take something that has to be heated I just put it on a paper plate and microwave it or I use a different container that day. It is dishwasher safe and very easy to clean. It is not insulated. It isn't going to keep your food hot or cold very long. It does just fine on my 20 minute commute and I put it in the refrigerator when I get to work. An insulated bag would be a must if you have to keep it out of the refrigerator. It is pricey that is for sure. But it is well built and I think it will last a while. The lid is nice and secure.

Worth the $. These are the best!
If you're looking at this lunch box, you are probably trying to avoid plastic. This is all stainless steel, easy to clean and good quality. I have had a small duo (2 section container that's great for snacks or a toddler/small child's lunch) and a large trio (3 section container perfect for an adult or older child's lunch) for a little over a year now. Unlike plastic containers, these two lunch boxes which have been used and washed nearly every day are exactly the same now as the day they arrived. This is an excellent, simple product. The price was very off-putting to me, but I didn't want to waste time or money on an inferior product that wouldn't last. Like most things that you will only ever have to buy once, it is not cheap, but it will last. I use the larger one for my 5-year-old's lunch and the smaller one for my 2-year-old. Both are sent to school/daycare/camp, dropped on the floor regularly and have only a few scratches but no dents. As other reviewers also noted, it is actually a more pleasant experience to pack lunches and even motivating to have such nice lunch boxes. I just ordered two more of the large trio boxes for my husband and I so that I can start packing lunches for the whole family the night before. You'll be surprised how much more satisfying it is to pack even a simple PBJ & fruit in a good quality stainless container than in a plastic one or ziplock bags. In our family, our goal with the things we choose to purchase and use regularly is always "less and better" and this product fits perfectly with that.

My son has used this for 3 years. Now my other son is starting in school, and he's getting one as well. Because this thing right here - well - let's just say that I think they'll be the longest lasting object in their school bags. No moving parts, just solid steel. The compartments are welded in. And knowing that it's new 18/8 steel, I can place their food right on the surface with no paper in between. No plastics. And the lids fits exactly on there with precision. It has never fallen off by itself. My 5-year old can open it easily. It cannot handle wet food, but I don't pack wet food anyway. With kids, the fever lids to open and things to unwrap, the better. They just open one lid and everything is right there. The only thing that can destroy this thing is if you take a hammer to it and dent it. My son has a small dent in his, maybe from hitting his schoolbag against something. I expect that he'll still have this when he grows up, and it'll be all dented and scratched up, and I love that. I only wish the logo was smaller or not even there or more timeless looking. I engraved their names and phone numbers in the cases and lids so they'll never get lost at school. So, haha, as you can tell, yes I like this product and would recommend anyone to invest in it. I met a mum in a store who said she was shopping for her son's third lunch box. Plastic of course. Well, just start out right and save money. Look no further. Oh, and we also have the Eco Lunch Box that has a not-so-fitting lid and moving parts. Harder for kids to open. This Lunch Bots is better.

Love it, got the green one because I was thinking about it for so long they ran out of the plain one with no plastic. That is the only bit I don’t like so I will be using it without the plastic, it can be taken and washed but I just didn’t like it.
