Wow. I think I'll actually be able to switch back to four-finger typing, even with nerve issues.
I will update this review if anything changes!TLDR: This keyboard feels amazing, looks amazing and has fantastic LED customization per key as well as presets that are awesome in every color. Been stuck with three-finger typing for over a year due to a nerve issue (numbness, tingling), but with the feedback on this thing, I'm probably gonna be able to switch back and re-adapt to home-row typing. Instant increase in WPM and accuracy. Yes, it's noisy, but it's fine in a closed room, or away from people trying to work or watch TV or something. The "clacks", which are pleasing IMO, are instantly drowned out with noise-cancelling headphones. (Just be cautious with your setup for voice chat, PARTICULARLY in games. Be prepared to use PTT in games unless you're ready to set up some noise cancelling software.)DETAILED review:So far, this keyboard feels like a brick ****house in the best possible ways. The feedback is so strong and bouncy that I'm fairly sure I will be able to go back to four-finger (home-row) typing, as opposed to 3-finger... even with the constantly numb/tingling pinkie and ring finger on my left hand that has been due to a nerve issue I've been dealing with for a little over a year.Typing speed used to average 180 WPM prior to nerve problem and shot down to ~70. (mostly due to having to 3-finger type...)Shot BACK up to ~100 WPM the second I plugged this in, and I feel like I can actually go back to home-row with some practice. It feels absolutely fantastic!Regarding the NOISE...It's not THAT bad. You aren't going to bother anyone if you're sitting in a closed room - given you aren't slamming the keys. That being said, it is certainly loud enough to be a nuisance in an office environment, or if used on a family computer in an open room, but I personally believe that a lot of people are blowing it out of proportion.Another potential issue is using this with any form of voice communication.Mind you - I use a real, XLR dynamic mic (Shure SM58) at max gain for Discord and any other kind of voice chat, so of course it's audible (I could honestly just pull the mic closer to my face and bump the gain down if I wanted, and that would mitigate the problem entirely.).Noise cancelling that is either built into a headset mic, or run as software on input would probably allow you to nearly completely fix this problem, but I have yet to test that claim. If all, else fails... Push to talk. Especially in games. Dear God, PTT in games!Speaking of games...This is another untested one, but I did see a few reviews here as well as a multitude of claims on Reddit stating that Blues require "too much press" to comfortably play anything intensive for too long. Not seeing the issue. If anything, the bounciness of the keys feels MORE comfortable, but I do realize that I have heavy, monster hands at 6'5 (2m) in height.Yes, "WASD" is gonna be noisy in any game that uses it for movement - but I don't foresee fatigue being an issue. I'll update if that changes as well.RGB COLORS!:This was a very pleasant surprise. Someone posted a nice demo on here of the different presets, but the ability to customize a layout at the hardware level is brilliant. Colors are great, selection is good, brightness is perfect and adjustable, etc. It's perfect. Very simple to set up as well. Hard to do it justice without a better camera.Easily found the extended user guide through the website listed in the manual:FN + ~ to start changing independent key colors.FN + right arrow to select which color out of the palette (displays on the ~ key).Simply press ANY key to make it use the selected color.FN + ~ once more to save, as well as to switch back to your custom layout at any time.No software/drivers needed. See my image for an example of what you can do with this. I only wish you could save multiple layouts, but that's not a huge issue. As a gamer, graphic novelist (WAY more typing than you'd think with that one), and employed audio transcriptionist, I don't think I could've made a better choice for the money.10/10, 5/5, etc. until anything changes!

Great Performance at an Excellent Price
I give this keyboard five stars not because it is perfect, but because the combination of features, design, and price make it an excellent choice.I bought this on Prime Day 2016 and have been using it daily ever since. If you are looking for a basic mechanical keyboard and/or don't want a mechanical keyboard that has eight thousand extra buttons and features and lights, this EagleTec is pretty hard to beat. The simple, 104-key layout replaces the right-side Windows key with an extra function key, allowing you to access volume controls, media controls, and common applications quickly. The brightness and "breathing" backlight features are also controlled this way.I have been using this keyboard daily at the office for a year with no major issues. I keep the backlight on at about a medium setting and don't use the "breathing" feature. The right side of the spacebar has gotten slightly "polished" from use, but there have been no other function or durability issues.Construction is very good. The keys are mounted directly to an aluminum top plate and secured to an ABS housing. This makes cleaning very easy as there are virtually no cracks for dust to fall into and aids the simple look. However, this style of construction also leads to one of the biggest downsides to this keyboard: noise. This is a very loud keyboard compared to my other mechanicals, including a vintage IBM Model M. Without an enclosed design, all the switch noise is free to go wherever. But the biggest contributor to the sound is the aluminum plate and the over-travel of the keys. Out of the box, the keys will travel past the point of actuation and drop onto the aluminum face, creating a substantial clack and a bit of a shock. Normally I have no issue with noise and tactile feel is the entire reason I prefer mechanical keyboards, but this was a bit excessive. This is easily and inexpensively fixed with O-rings; I used the Akwox o-ring and keycap puller that can be found on Amazon. Akwox Keycap Puller Tool + 135pcs Rubber O-Ring Sound Dampeners For Mechnial Keyboard Cherry MX Key SwitchThis $7 addition still gave me a great keyboard for under $40 and will also allow me to deep-clean the keyboard more easily if needed. The only other complaints I can think of are very small.-The Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock indicator lights are just above the number pad. Unless you sit very close to your keyboard, it is hard to see if they are illuminated.-I seem to accidentally hit the Caps Lock key more on this keyboard than my others. This is most likely a personal issue though!General Summary:PROS:-Simple, clean design is a good choice for the office.-Solid construction with good materials, build quality and durability-The light-pass for the keys is molded in and cannot be worn off from use.-Adjustable back-lighting can go from very faint, to a slight highlight to a substantial glow.-Keys mounted on a flat plate makes cleaning easy.-Great price for a mechanical keyboard with solid performance.CONS-Very loud, more so than other mechanical keyboard. Easily fixed with O-Rings, but be advised going in.-Keys seem bottom out harshly compared to other keyboards. Easily fixed with O-Rings-Caps/Num/Scroll Lock indicator lights can be hard to see due to their location.OVERALLIf you want a solid mechanical keyboard (and you do, trust me) that performs well and don't need or want fancy gamer functions or super-techy looks, this is a great choice. Just know that you may find yourself wanting to add O-Rings (a simple and inexpensive task) if you use it heavily.

Great mechanical keyboard for the price!
Been using this keyboard for years now, and I really like it. I wanted a mechanical keyboard with good tactile switches, and low profile, but didn't want to spend too much money. This keyboard fits the bill.Out of the box it works great, switches have a nice Cherry-MX feel to them, and there's no ghosting or performance issues for any of the tasks I've used it for.The stock keycaps do feel flimsy - So I replaced all of them with a more sturdy PBT set. They went onto the switches with no problem, but there was a "break-in" period where certain keys could feel a little sticky. But after some time of use, everything was smoothed out.Overall this is a great budget mechanical keyboard. The frame feels solid enough. There is a little bit of creak and flex if you're absolutely beating on this thing over an uneven surface, and its definitely a lighter construction, but nothing is sliding around under your fingers when you don't want it to.Not every detail is going to be liked - personally I could do without the blue backlighting, and one of the rubber "feet" on the bottom of the board came off after years of use, but otherwise it has looked and performed great. It's also very easy to clean.
