Awesome and affordable solution to a long time problem!
I love it. My computer only has USB2.0 but still powers 2 monitors fine (note that i'm not using for gaming, but rather internet windows and data entry windows. Also, note that my computer is 2011 Macbook pro - with registered windows 7 dual boot and mac osx ... when running in windows i have 3 external monitors (2 connected through this Diamond product and one through my Thunderbolt port) and the laptop monitor so 4 total .. and it works great. However, when in Mac OSX I have noticed that the USB monitors arent being recognized ... probably driver issues or something, i really havent had time to troubleshoot it yet, but i'm sure it is a somewhat simple fix (hoping)Had it just plug-n-played and worked fine on both platforms immediate id give it a full 5 star. ONLY reason for 4 is that i'll have to tinker a tiny bit to get it to work on mac it appears.

(Update) Stopped working after 20 months
**Update --I previously rate this product 5 stars. It worked flawlessly for about 20 months than had a major internal hardware issue and was no longer recognized via the USB connection. I confirmed that the error I was receiving indicates that the hardware device has failed using support from the DisplayLink forums. The device worked well and I wish it were higher quality, but it is not.I have reduced my rating to 2 stars.**My previous review follows --I think this item has been unfairly maligned. I purchased it very recently (in 12/2016) and it works well. The underlying hardware on the vast majority of these USB docks is all made by the same company (DisplayLink). It is a fairly old (2007) and reasonably good technology. In fact, this Diamond device has basically the same chip as the Plugable mini-dock and the Plugable USB 3.0 dock, which have much higher Amazon ratings. This has the 3900 series DisplayLink chip. The only difference is that this one is the HDCP compliant chipset. Accordingly, both Netflix and HBOGo work on extended monitors plugged into the HDMI/DVI ports on this device. The big difference is that Plugable really comes through with tech support. If you have problems with this device, take a look at the plugable forums (and particularly the answers given by plugable support) many solutions are there. Two major tips - (1) Don't use the included drivers. Download the latest drivers from DisplayLink's website. (2) For Windows - Make sure you have desktop hardware acceleration enabled and that you are using a theme with Areo support. Not a legacy desktop theme.I tested this device on two Windows setups. A Lenovo Flex 14 with USB 3.0 and a Acer netbook with USB 2.0. I tested the USB 3.0 setup with two monitors one at 1440x900 and the other at 1080p. Both monitors worked well. No issues. I only tested the USB 2.0 setup with the 1440x900 alone. Also worked well. I am not sure what the limitations of the USB 2.0 setup are. However, looking at DisplayLink's history earlier USB2.0 versions of their USB-to-Video system supported full HD. However, I did not test this. The box does not rule out dual monitor support for USB2.0.If you care about being able to watch some HDCP-protected streaming services on your dock-connected monitors, I recommend this device. If you don't care about HDCP, Plugable's systems are a good bet too (you will get better personalized support with Plugable).Good Luck!

FALSE ADVERTISING: DOES NOT SUPPORT 2560x1440!
Despite seeing support for 2560x1440 on Amazon.com and the Diamond Multimedia product page for MDS3900, this product will not support 2560x1440. Oddly, when I received the box in the mail, every place on the box that showed "2560x1440" was covered by a sticker with "2048x1152". I finally called customer support after troubleshooting with various HDMI and DVI cables, updating the DisplayLink software, and rebooting my computer among other things.Customer service did not have any clues about the sticker, and simply said it would only support 2048x1152 and that this was clearly stated on their website. This is not the case if you click on the Features tab for the product page where it clearly says "Max resolution 2560 x 1600, 2048 x 1152 and 1080P". While they indicated I must be on an old web page, when I cleared my cache and did a product search on diamondmm.com, I still get the same product page and see the same thing. The Amazon.com product page also indicates that it is managed by Diamond Multimedia and not some 3rd party. They are clearly falsely advertising this product, so I would be weary of any other claims they make about this product and any others.Diamond MDS3900 - Click Features tab to see the claim of 2560.http://www.diamondmm.com/mds3900-diamond-usb-multiple-display-monitors.html

Good product but items missing from the package!
The product itself it good, especially for the fact that you can have ethernet + HDMI connection on the same dock using a USB port, it worked as expected after installation of the relevant drivers. However, the product was delivered incomplete!!!The spec on Amazon's website and indeed the outside of the box show that the contents include: 1 dock, 1 USB 3.0 cable, 1 ethernet cable and 1 DVI to VGA adapter/dongle. But I'm afraid the ethernet cable and DVI to VGA adapter/dongle were nowhere to be seen!!!I wonder now if I will get a refund for a percentage of what I paid as some items/accessories were not delivered?

Do not but this product. The quality is bad. Find another company or buy cheap chinese its not worth the extra money. I
Do not purchase this product!!! The first one was dead. They sent me another it lasted 6 months. Amazon will not take this back and diamond will not advance a return. First one monitor failed, then a few weeks later the second. I can not do my work without a second display and cant wait the week two weeks to get this back from them. nI don't trust they will retunr a working product. The tech said they don't make the software so there isn't much he can do. I wasted a lot of time problem solving this.

Horrible...Better choices out there!!
Horrible experience with the product.it would always disconnect and reconnect causing all my screens to go blank and all opened windows to be reassorted to other screens. It was a mess. Purchased another product and it worked perfect.

Reliable Product, Easy to Setup & Use
I have bought three of these for different laptop workstations and they have all worked well. I would always recommend when looking for a PC video splitter look for devices using a DisplayLink chipset. This model also contains 1GB video memory which is not noted in the specs in the Amazon listing.
