Is this item 3 octaves?

It has three octaves. One chromatic octave contains 12 keys (7 "natural" (white) tones+5 "flat/sharp" (black). The "extra" one is the same as the start note, but three octaves higher. Octave (meaning eight) refers more to the eight tones in the diatonic (do-re-mi....) scale. If you notice, as you move from one tonic (base) note to its octave in the most recognized diatonic scale, the major scale, you pass five keys along the way that are not played. They are part of the diatonic major scale starting from other keys. By the way, the frequency of each octave doubles by powers of two. The F-natural above the first F-natural vibrates at double the frequency. The third F-natural on this instrument vibrates at double the frequency of the second and four times the frequency of the first. This is the same with all of the notes.

Does it inflate and is there a headphone jack?

Hello - I am not sirexwhat you mean by "inflate" - you have to blow into it to make sounds. There is not an earphone jack, but it is not terribly loud, bit it is a lot of fun and easy to play!

I received the melodica and the high keys have a much slower response, is that a normal behavior or a defect? How can I fix that?

The high keys need to exhaust more air, maybe the air is not blown enough so the melodica might have a slower response, if you have further problem, please contact the client service.
