oh boy oh boy
My son came to visit ... hurray! got him to "open the box," then HE put it together (with a bit of help from my grandson). As other people have said, you kind of need to intuitively figure out how to put it together ... the instructions, for example, say "round head screws" for holding the dish together, ... but none of the screws had a round head. So, figure 6 x 3 screws for the dish; that's18 screws, separate out the various kinds of screws, count. Frankly, I dunno how he did it, but he seemed to get it together pretty darned quick after he figured out what the round bit with the rotating thingy on it was (called "adjusting rod" on the photo that's an important part of the instructions). He's starting to cook on it NOW. yayyy!!! :) and you don't heat up the house cooking outside ...

This is the One (ALMOST)! - Amazing Fast Solar Cooker with a Few Issues
The media could not be loaded. PROSI have several solar cookers and as far as being able to cook food and getting hot , this is the FASTEST solar cooker I've used. Water boils in under a minute. Leaves and paper ignite on fire within a couple seconds in the center. This thing gets SO HOT quickly and SO FAST, that you might be able to point it at a house and start a fire. I don't know if that's a plus or downside. You definitely want to keep the dish covered when not in use so you don't start a fire. Another benefit, is that this entire unit fits so compact in it's original box.CONSInstructions are difficult to understand and pretty much useless. It was easier for me to look at the picture of what the unit is supposed to look like assembled and then guess how to put it together. Basically, you need to put the base together first, then the stand, and then assemble the dish. There are so many different screw sizes, you're guessing which screw is for what, but if you look to see how many of each size screw there are.. you can do a decent job of getting the right screws. I would suggest loosely assemble the screws until you've gotten most everything put together. The entire frame is sturdy and strong, but the parabolic part is then sheet metal and the shiny metallic reflective part is just made of reflective tape. The biggest downside of all is that the entire system is not portable. Once assembled it will not fit through your house door. You would have to assemble at least the dish from the base each time, and you risk damaging dish each time you move it, since the metal is thin.Another con is that the item isn't packed well. The first unit I ordered arrive damaged with missing parts. There was a big hole in the box, so I returned it and ordered a second unit.FINAL CONCLUSIONGreat Solar cooker, to be able to cook anything fast and hot. It however is not portable (no way to get it in and out of the house front door without disassembly, it's a little heavy and would not last long term if moved around a lot. If you can keep it outside, covered and didn't have to move it, then it would be great. Instructions are useless, but you can figure it out easily if you look at the final picture. Because of how much heat it is able to generate, and how compact the original box it came in is, I purchased one as a backup to my other solar ovens, to keep in case of an emergency. It's ability to cook food in a pan, start a fire, and boil water is the best I've seen.

It really works! Easy for any DIYer!
Honestly, because of the low price (I paid right around $100 including shipping) I admit I was skeptical of the quality, but it’s actually a well-built solar stove, and I’m kind of blown away at how quickly it can fry sausage, boil water for pasta, and several other meals in this first week that I’ve had it. (Hint: cover with a lid for even faster boiling).Purchased for the apocalypse, but it’s actually really fun to cook on (mostly because it’s so fast!) so I’ve used it almost every day.My only complaints, as others have mentioned, are the thin packaging and the lack of easy instructions, but everything arrived intact despite a tear in the side of the box, and it really isn’t terribly difficult to just “wing it” based on the photo. Also, once I finally decided to simply read the instructions it became a lot more clear what to do. Haha, go figure! (Mine was missing a couple little cotter pins but it wasn’t a big deal at all, as I just stuck some little nails in the holes and bent them over…plus, I cooked on it the first day without the cotter pins/nails just fine).By the way, I left the wheels off since I have it on a gravel driveway and it’s light enough to just pick up and move around (25-30 pounds maybe)…yet, a recent 70 mph overnight gust did nothing more than tip it over on its side (with no damage whatsoever). So, it’s relatively light but still durable.Anyway, I only hesitate to leave such a good review because I want the price to stay low. Haha! But I’m definitely going to buy a second one before the price increases!

Very Powerful Solar Cooker with some not so great things
Just right off the bat, the product came damaged. The panels were all crimped in the middle. Made it difficult to connect all the panels together. And the reflective film on one of the panels was ripped. Luckily the seller included some replacement tape to fix these issues.Honestly, the quality of the product is questionable as the panels are very flimsy. The welds are not great. The instructions were abysmal. Didn't give you a parts list to make sure you had everything required for assembly and the instructions were poorly explained and only had one blurry photo it fully assembled. As for the cooking aspect it is extremely effective (almost too powerful). It took no time to fry an egg as a test and easily set paper on fire. The size is kinda impractical as it's literally a giant satellite dish.Overall, I'm fairly happy with the solar cooker but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. Oh and $40 shipping is kinda highway robbery lol
