Easy Solos for Beginning Cello, Level 1 Sheet music – November 1, 1991

This book is good to use with students who are playing at least middle of Suzuki Cello Volume I and who can read bass clef. It comes with a cello book and a separate piano book. All pieces are in playable keys (C, G, D Major) and can be played in first position. You could introduce shifting in these pieces if your student is ready. Notes/rests in this book (volume 1) include half notes, dotted quarter notes, quarter notes/rests, and eighth notes/rests. You can also introduce your student to accents, slurs, staccato notes, dynamics, repeats, and d.c. al fine using Easy Solos for Beginning Cello Level 1. I like using this book as a supplement to my curriculum.

There is a book for the cello part, and another book for the piano accompaniment. The cello part is good for a 1 - 2 year student, all the beginner's standards, but some really beautiful songs as well. The piano/violin accompaniment is more advanced - no doubt designed for the teacher to play along at a recital. If you are playing cello with a beginner piano student attempting to accompany you, this may be more than they are ready for.

For beginning cello, but not brand new cellists. Maybe end of the first year if you're in private lessons. 2nd or 3rd year if you just play at school.

These tunes are easy and get progressively harder...good for sight reading

We only received the accompaniment book, and not the solo part.

Would like to recommend this book if I only knew what was in it. Paid for it, but NEVER received it
