Actiontec 802.11ac Desktop WiFi Extender with 4 Internet Antennas 5GHz, Gigabit Ethernet, Bonded MoCA for Whole Home Fast WiFi (WCB6200Q) (Renewed)

This product worked for a few minutes out of the box. Then the packet loss and game freezes started.Turns out this isn't a "renewed" product at all. It's an old, used version manufactured for a communications provider (Verizon, Cox, etc...) The firmware was totally wrong and I was unable to flash to current firmware due to it being locked down.The unit was also not even returned to factory default. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra. After all you get a warranty and most likely a properly working unit.

Item is provided with no documentation whatsoever; we know that it does work because I did connect to the network by pressing the button on the extender. However, unless you are familiar with setting this particular peripheral up, you will not get much farther. There is a telephone number provided to get support but it is not answered; instead, you are asked to leave a message. I did not get a return call until my return of the item was completed. I also attempted to get assistance from my ISP; who, after a point, recommended that I call the manufacturer. This, I did but, again, after a point the manufacturer recommended that I call my ISP. When I initiated my return request, an Amazon representative attempted to help and got someone from the manufacturer on the line again. He did his best, I am sure, but, again, he mentioned the ISP once more. All in all: at the end of six-hours we had accomplished nothing and the item ended-up being returned anyway. A series of events that I did not expect to experience, at a point where the majority of service and product providers have established service standards that have come to be presumed. Buyer Beware!

Didn’t work with Verizon Fios internet. Waste of time.

Works great, placed at opposite end of the house from VZ FiOS G1100 router, wifi full signal all over house now. Note this actiontec branded model requires some configuration to match your verizon router wifi settings -where as the Verizon version of this device should configure automatically. Also get the latest firmware from Actiontec/Screenbeam customer support.

Extended WiFi to the other side of the house using the Coaxial cables already installed in the walls. Speed of the wifi is limited to 100 MB/sec due to the Coax, but that is fine for the handful of devices using the extension. Setup only took a few minutes, but could be challenging for someone with zero networking experience. Look for some instructions online first, that may save you some time later. All in all a good product.

Works with FIOS but no instructions. So needed to download manufacturer and Fios extender instructions. Also need to get coax splitter and cables that come with new but not with this refurbished unit. Needing a coax connection did limit options. Also needed to space away from subwoofer as speaker picked up some interference. Once I followed instructions the unit adopted the same logon as router and now pretty seamless strong WiFi throughout home.

We added this extender to our home...easy to install, a coax cable and a plug. Immediately it popped up on our phones and computers but...we weren't given a password! On the box itself it only said "admin"...Amazon advised us to try "adminadmin" (didn't work) and also the key on the back (also didn't work). We were told to go to the website and create a new login...the link brought me to a netgear site so that was no help. I think Amazon finally conceded defeat and said I should just return it. It could've been a great extender...but for a small issue of not being able to use it lol. Pay for the one that comes in its original box...not worth the "savings" lol.

This was a little difficult to figure out how to set up. I had to google my way through the process. But it works. My wifi now extends to the upstairs on the opposite side of the house from my router.
