review from an average dude
Ear pads arrived on time, simple to install, fit perfectly, relatively inexpensive... There is really nothing to complain about. I would offer that the only way you could compare these against the brand pair is if you bought a new pair of both. Otherwise you are only comparing a very used pair with a new pair. You would expect the feel and fit (in the case) to be different since the used pair is well... worn out - otherwise why are you buying a new pair? Does a new pair of jeans fit like your favorite old pair?1. Is the material different? - Probably... There is also no guarantee that Bose didn't change materials over the life of the headphones either to address comfort and/or durability. The foam density appears to be similar and the amount of foam appears to be the same.2. Are they as comfortable as the original? Probably not, but these are comfortable enough and frankly after a couple of hours it really doesn't matter.3. Is the sound quality different? - I couldn't tell and doubt you will... but I didn't put the headset on my dog to see if it actually blocked the dog whistle :). Bose does claim their materials improves passive noise cancellation properties. I think that's clever marketing as they are talking about overall product materials and in comparison to what (on the ear phones, ear buds?)... I have QC15s which are active noise cancelling that cannot be used in passive mode - I can't tell any difference and frankly I find any claim suspicious that these ear pad cushions would have any noticeable impact on passive noise properties. Neither the "leather" nor the foam have any noise suppression properties, especially in the amounts we are talking about.4. Will these last longer? - No idea, but my original Bose ones didn't last as long as I thought they should and I would guess that you will be replacing them again.5. Are these worth it? Umm, it's a no brainer unless you have hangups or don't mind wasting money and if that's you then I would imagine you are buying a new pair of QC25 instead of figuring out how to save a few bucks buying replacement ear pads. Frankly the QC25 fix a couple of serious limitations to the QC15 - uses a standard audio cord and allows use in passive mode.Seriously though, I like the finer things in life (I bought Bose) and if you are reading this then it's a no brainer - there is nothing wrong with these cushions. I only wish they also included the upper pad, that cushion didn't last either.

Better than originals
These replacements worked perfectly on my old Bose noise canceling headphones, probably better than the original ones

I was quite surprised to find these to be a great quality, fitting, and decent price.
I'm not real big on writing reviews, but i was quite surprised how nice these are. My QC15's finally had a rip in the ear pad cushions. I was looking around, and saw that it was a replaceable part. I'm always skeptical of non brand sellers, but these are right on the money. I gently pulled my torn one's out, grabbed my replacements. I was happy to see they are exactly the right size, and they went in with no trouble. The spots with the extra tips to hold cushion in place was a cinch to place under. I will now see how long they last since my old ones held up for 18 months. Thanks again ITIS. P.s. I saw some 1 star reviews. I did not have a issue with the fitting, and they were comfortable to me. I'm sure these might have a break in period. I also tested the noise canceling, and I didn't notice a difference between old and these new ones. The pic comments are not false advertising in my opinion. The pair I got look just like the pic. The difference between my original cushions is the color of the foam being yellowish while the new ones use blue foam. I'm sure the originals have a more memory foam style, while generics may not. I also have a fairly large cranium, my military nickname was fathead, and they seem fine to me. The time test starts now because I'm opening up vudu to watch a flick. I'll update after a few weeks.

Subtle Differences from Bose Original Pads
I purchased these replacement pads for my Bose QC-15 headphones as the old pads were torn and needed to be replaced. I selected this set of pads based on the positive reviews here on Amazon with the thought that they would be the same as the original pads. While they look the same, they are indeed slightly different.First things first - these pads are fairly easy to install though they do require a little persistence to get them to snap into place. The earphones themselves have small tabs around the edges designed to snap the pads' bases into place and hold securely, and if the pads are not snapped down they simply will not stay securely. The inner foam and cloth shield that covers the electronics is easy to install but I had trouble with the double-sided tape that holds them in place - the adhesive did not want to release the cover strip and I had real difficulty peeling that strip away without ripping the actual cloth.Once in place, the phones look exactly like they did when they were new, but I found three differences. First, the phones no longer fit into the case as easily as they once did. Instead of just turning the cups to lay flat and simply putting them in the case, now I have to mess with them slightly to fit into the case properly, though they can be made to fit. More noticeable, though, is that the pads are not as effective as the originals for passive noise canceling. A fan that I have in my office used to be canceled out almost completely with the combination of passive and active noise canceling but is now more audible than when the original pads were in place. I would not say the difference is enough to render the earphones' ability to cancel noise completely compromised, but they are definitely not the same. Finally, these replacement pads are just a little less supple and soft than the original pads. It is not all that noticeable until comparing the original and replacement pads side by side. You have to really be looking closely for the difference to notice it, but it's there. The difference in noise canceling ability is most noticeable when working in an environment with reverb. I use my phones to monitor sound coming through a professional sound board because these have always done an excellent job of eliminating reverb and leaving just what comes through the sound board. With these new pads in place, I can now hear a lot of reverb, even when I press the phones tight over my ears and have ensured that they completely cover my ears so it's not a gapping issue. The material is different, plain and simple. These are not bad replacement pads by any means. They are very good, they are comfortable and they do make these phones look brand new again. That said, they were not manufactured by Bose and there are some differences. When considering the cost difference between these and Bose parts, the trade-offs balance out favorably. If you have to have an exact match with the original pads, these are very close but not 100% identical. If you are satisfied with a [roughly] 90%-95% match, these pads work nicely for a lot less than original manufacturer pads.
