Pleasure's Edge (Edge Novel)

Complex characters...
My Rating:A- eroticThis book features two characters which are writers... I love that. Dylan is an erotica author and while she has written books which feature a bit of kink, she's never really delved into the world of BDSM. She wants to change that and Alec is recommended to her as a source for information. Not only is Alec also a writer, but he's also a practicing Dom. Dylan meets with him to do her inteview, but Alec challenges her to actually enter and experience the world with him as her guide. Dylan is admittedly intrigued, so she agrees to his deal, although she has a really hard time seeing herself as a submissive. She's a gal that likes to take charge. For me, there is the perfect amount of rebellion vs. submission in this book. Dylan really does not see herself as a submissive, but she's trying to give Alec a chance to prove her wrong. The results are really and truly overwhelming to her. She does NOT like the fact that she's submissive and fights it every step of the way. These are two people that never, ever plan to fall in love or honestly even have a long-term relationship. As things become more steady between the two of them, they make a pact to "not think about it", so when they realize they've fallen in love, it's truly devastating to both of them. This is not what they want or planned. There is really a lot in this book to love. I love how Alec handles Dylan. He may be a Dom and thinks nothing about taking control, but he makes sure that it's okay with Dylan when he does so. He reads her so well and is VERY in tune with her difficulties in their situation. I really liked that dynamic. On the other hand is Dylan, who is just really uncomfortable letting go, but I liked that she was brave enough to trust Alec. These are very complex characters with very complex emotions and Eve Berlin has written them brilliantly. I thought the entire situation/dynamic was very believable and it definitely sucked me in.I liked the friendships throughout the book too...Dante for Alec and Mischa for Dylan. I am really excited that they will both be featured in books 2 and 3. Book 3 (Mischa's book) isn't out yet, but I need to order book #2 (Dante's)...a lawyer who's a Dom...um, yes!And you know, this is an erotic book, so it's gonna be hot. The scenes in the beginning when Alec and Dylan aren't actually involved yet...just attracted to each other. Wow! Sizzling!Overall this was a really enjoyable read. Amazon has been featuring it in their $6 price range which is an incredible deal for this $15 trade paperback. Definitely worth the purchase!

Great erotic romance !!!
It was different, not the intense BDSM I was expecting, pleasantly surprised. I think you'd like it. I learn something new every time I read her stories. Each one is different from the last and very interesting and entertaining. In this, the main character is writing a book and needs experience, so a friend gives her Alec's number to get info, he's a writer also, but Psyc-thrillers. One thing leads to another. I r e a l l y like her doms !!"Pleasure's Edge", written by Eden Bradley under her pen name Eve Berlin, was very different. The characters truly searched for their answers and the understanding they needed. Right from the first pages on the story is deeply erotic and it stays that way. The feelings between Dylan and Alec were intense and real, and their sex scenes are torrid, hot, and sensual. The romance has power in this book the balance feels just right. You won't be disappointed ! Enjoy.

Pleasure's Edge
I found this book to be just okay. It was a pleasant enough read, but I didn't find the plot particularly compelling and I couldn't seem to get emotionally engaged with the characters. I also thought the sex scenes were rather tame. However, as a caveat to that last point, I should add that I think I'm looking for a level of perversity slightly above what appears in most BDSM romances (and is found more in straight up erotica). They are certainly graphic and steamy and judging from the other reviews a lot of people love them, but as far as the BDSM aspect went there wasn't much more than spanking and light bondage. There wasn't a whole lot of plot beyond the romance, which mostly consisted of sex interspersed with both Alec and Dylan fearing getting too close, and her anxiety over his adventurous lifestyle that brings up memories of the way her brother died. I wouldn't really recommend this book, but obviously a lot of people absolutely love it, so it really just depends in what you're interested in. If you're new to the realm of BDSM romance, I'd recommend starting with something different, but if you read a ton of the genre already and are looking for something new, this might be up your alley. Fans if Maya Banks and Shayla Black will probably like this book.

ONE BOOK ALL ROMANCE READERS NEED TO GET!!!
Really really enjoyed this book. I felt such a connection to this book, Alec reminded me of my husband with the little things he does (especially the goatee thing that I love so much). This book reminds you to live and let live, don't forget the past but leave it there and live for today. If we didn't take risk or opportunities we will never know what happens. "Pleasure's Edge" is definitely a recommend read, very emotional, gives you that feeling in the pit of your stomach that makes you turn the page over and over, could not put it down. The sex scenes are amazing and not over the top and very realistic. I can't wait to read Dante's story (half spanish, half italian *swoon*).

Loved it!!!
Ok so i don't get the whole thing about physical pain, especially getting whipped for pleasure but hey, who am i to judge. This was a well written and well developed romance and the BDSM aspect of their lives did not take control of their love story. You got to see the love develop and it was beautiful. The love scenes are really something else! Don't read this in a public place unless you want some pervert to follow you home because you will get hot and everyone will be able to see it in your face. With the way this author write BDSM romance, i can read it, it's not some crazy perverted fetish, but rather some kink as i see it.

Amazingly sensual
reviewOne of the best erotic romances I have ever read.Dylan Ivory is an author of erotic romances and her next book is about BDSM. To get a clearer understanding of it she sets up a meeting with Alec Walker who's a dominant and also an author of dark thrillers. Dylan is fascinated by Alec at first glance but also irritated by him.Alec is a master of domination and from the first moment of meeting Dylan he feels that their relationship will not stop with talking about BDSM but that it will be about living it. He is convinced that Dylan needs to surrender control to him to really start living and feeling. Soon afer their first sparkling meeting they are deeper into a relationship than both thought possible. Dylan as well as Alec always shied away from real and lasting relationships because of things that happened in their childhoods. So the deep feelings they developed are scaring both of them. Will Dylan and Alec overcome their fears for a chance of a relationship filled with love and trust?"Pleasure's Edge", the first book written by Eden Bradley under her new pen name Eve Berlin, was everything I hoped for and more. Right from the first pages on the story is incredibly erotic and it stays that way until the last page. The chemistry between Dylan and Alew is over the top and their sex scenes are amazingly hot and sensual. Sometimes there can be too much sex in a erotica so that the romance doesn't have a chance however in this book the balance feels just right.Dylan's experience with BDSM and that she is willing to surrender after a short time was believable because of her deep feelings and issues. To see her surrender and relax was beautiful and exciting.I liked both Dylan and Alec right from the start and enjoyed that they are both strong and go their own way. I loved the scenes in which they learned more about each other and in which you could see their vulnerable sides. All of the steps in their relationship felt real and I was happy and satisfied with how the book ended.Dante's book is up next and I will definitely get myself a copy because Eve Berlin just knows how to write sensual and lovely erotica.coverI love the colour scheme and that the cover is more sensual/erotic than sexy because that fits perfectly to the book.final appraisalI enjoyed everything about "Pleasure's Edge" and the combination of very hot, erotic sex scenes and lovely, romantic scenes felt just perfect to me. This book captured my interest from beginning to end and never got boring. I'm already very excited for Dante's book. Eden Bradley writing as Eve Berlin is a pure pleasure for fans of erotica.Edge series1. Pleasure's Edge2. Desire's Edge (2011)
