Coats dishwasher rack repairs very well.
The food grade rating allowed me to use this to coat repairs to my dishwasher rack. I've used the special vinyl coatings sold to repair rusting areas of a dishwasher rack, but I've never found them to last very long. After removing rust and coating the affected area with a rust inhibiting paint, I liberally coated the repair area with this material. It has held up well in the very harsh environment of the dishwasher.

Worked Extremely Well!
I was looking for something to adhere small glass bowls (to hold candy) to plastic for some Halloween decorations. I had to make about 20 of them and I needed something that 1, wouldn't come undone if the plastic and/or glass became cool due only to normal conditions, and 2, didn't have the strong, horrible odor. This was the miracle adhesive! I am a DIYer and have been using another popular adhesive for a very long time. No longer. Don't get me wrong, the other product works great and frankly is cheaper. But the DAP 688 did everything I needed and had no lingering odor. It is advertised to repair aquarium glass so it must be safe for fish. Plus, if it could hold glass together in water, I figured it would hold glass to plastic! And it worked great!!! If you are looking for something you can use inside, try this. Great product.

Great product except for container, and with careful use.
Love this versatile product. I use it where I need to make something "cushiony." Cures quickly. Some recent uses: to make eyeglasses "sit" better, a chipped corner of a smart phone, to make bumpers for ceramic items so they don't scratch surfaces, as adhesive. My only real gripe is the container, which easily bursts. Be gentle in pushing it out. Forget the "applicator tip" which is useless after one use. After each use, I apply plastic wrap between the cap and sealant tube. Before each use, I remove the resulting "cured" plug that forms at that boundary using a box knife. Once it's removed, I gently and slowly squeeze what I need.

Excellent for fixing a broken dish, food safe
It was very easy to work with this product.I liked that the drying time was slightly delayed, as repairing a broken dish requires patience and precision. It was very important to me to use a product that is verifiable and absolutely food safe per ANSI/NSF and/or FDA standards.*There are many products out there that claim to be food safe, but you have to actually look for that information to be stated on the product or the product’s manufacturing site. Also, if a chemical product is not made in the United States, don’t buy it, as this information is almost always impossible to find and intentionally omitted. I visited dap.com and verified the safety information on the MSDS (material safety data sheet) as well.I made sure that I had plenty of ventilation, but honestly, there wasn’t much of an odor.Make sure that the opening that you create at the tip is large enough! A safety pin is not wide enough for the viscosity of this product, fyi.

It says FOOD SAFE on the front of the package - I used it on acrylic and it worked great. Holding 2 pieces together well
This could not be easier. It says FOOD SAFE on the front of the package. I had an acrylic serving dish that needed a fix. It had broken into 3 pieces, and one piece had to be reattached completely- Imagine a circle broken in two, with a tube coming out. It fixed it right up. It's visible that it was fixed, but it is nice and stable and usable and holding fine. No water is leaking through the repair- and the vessel's primary purpose is to dispense beverages.Just snip the tip, it comes out a bit thick, like a thick silicone gel, and hold it into place for 5 minutes. Then, it needs to harden for 24 hours. I followed the directions and I'm very pleased with the results. I would use it again. It was more than enough for my project.

this really worked
I have a plastic birdbath that got a crack in the bowl, and as birdbaths are so pricey (to replace this exact one would be about $50), I tried to fix it myself. Used an entire can of that spray on sealer, sprayed the bottom as I didn't want to hurt the birds, well, that stuff didn't work at all, still leaked. Then I saw this, read the reviews, saw it was fish safe at least, so, got it. I cleaned out the bowl part of the bath, let it dry and then opened up the tube. I did not use the little plastic nozzle that came with it as I felt it was too large for the hairline crack that ran across the bowl. Instead, I improvised and used one of those little plastic identification tags that are placed inside the potted plants we buy. Decided the pointed end of it would be what I needed to "trowel" the adhesive into the crack. It worked really well, I was able to use my new "tool" to spread the DAP product into the crack and slightly on either side of the crack, and level it out. I did not notice any smell from this product, which was good as I have gotten sick from glue smells before. Took me about 10 minutes to get it the way I wanted, and I let the birdbath sit in the sun for 2 days before trying to put water in it, when I did--NO LEAKS!! I let it cure one more day and then filled it with water and put itback under the butterfly bush, where the birds have been using it since! Nice to have the birdbath back again, and I hope it really doesn't hurt critters as they advertise!

A job well done!
This was perfect for repairing my handmade ceramic mugs that have been waiting for repair in my cupboard until I could find the best product. It was difficult to know how much adhesive to use and I ended up using too much on each mug, but it was easy to remove the excess glue after drying. The mug that was fully cracked in half does not leak and has been through the dishwasher - I cannot even tell it was broken. The mug with its handle broken off is as sturdy as ever and I am able to hang it back on it’s mug display (and trust it with a full cup of coffee). The handmade pour over is also sturdy and back in one piece. Excellent product.

Good Adhesion but Bottle Broke
used this to repair a mug and it worked fine but while using it for the first time the aluminum squeeze bottle that holds the glue ripped along the seems. it hasn’t dried up yet cause i put it in a zip lock bag but it definitely makes it harder to use
