Nice chair until is wasn't...
Have owned this chair for less then a year. Chair wasn't even used a lot, and the seals are already failing on the hydraulic lift cylinder. Chair Is Absolutely Not Worth The Money.

High and mighty
NIce finish and so easy to put together with the tools they provide even a caveman could do it....you don't need those little picture directions for goodness sake.

Pneumatic chair cylinder failed
After about 2 months of intermittent use, the chair gradually sinks down as I sit on it. It appears that the pneumatic cylinder (which raises and lowers the chair) has developed a slow leak. The bottom footrest also seems to slide down over time.

Keep looking
Does the job but isn't very comfortable. Metal parts seem flimsy when put together as instructed.

and it is super comfortable.
I spend about 5 hours a day in this chair.. and it is super comfortable... the only thing I did was replace the wheels because the originals are cheap and did not roll well on my carpet.... some nice 3" Casters did the trick...

Broke in less than one year, poor design.
This expensive (for what it is) chair broke in less than one year. The left arm snapped right off. It's a high chair, so it seems to me that it would be expected to put some weight on the arms to navigate in and out of it. However as it turns out, the arms are not mounted to anything of substance. Just the plastic housing below the seat.If anyone knows of a durable drafting stool with arms, I'd love to hear about it.

Comfortable until it broke...in less than a year.
It was a lovely comfortable chair for many months, but after less than a year of normal use the right arm snapped off in my hand, cracking the plastic housing on the seat base. I called the retailer and they refused to replace it, blaming the issue on "improper use". (I disagree - I'm only 150lbs, and holding a chair's arms to help get in and out of it is not "improper use")I expect more durability and quality from a $300 chair. I won't buy Harwick again, nor will I buy from this retailer.
