As expected RCBS quality.

I replaced a Lee die set with these to get full length case resizing. The shorter Lee resizing die was leaving bulges in my cases. I have run through about 500 rounds with these dies and they did a very good job. Not that the Lee dies were bad, they were just designed to use with less-powerful presses. I am using these with an RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme. I would not recommend using them in a Lee Challenger or similar light-duty press. I tried a few cases in the Lee and it was flexing more than I like to see. These are probably not good for a hand press, either. I think you'd have trouble extracting the case. If I can even feel the effort on the RCBS press, I know I'd never be able to do it by hand.I had no issues with these dies in the RCBS press. They resize cleanly and consistently. The bullet seating depth stays consistent from start to finish, something that the Lee dies with their hand-tighten only lock rings sometimes fail to do.

Used these dies quite a lot, and have another set exactly like them set up for a different bullet weight that have also worked great. Only complaint with these, and all RCBS dies that I've used is the lock ring. The split ring design with a cross bolt work so much better. I've started replacing a lot of my die lock rings with those. If you are wanting to stick with these lock rings my advice is to remove the set screw in the lock ring and insert a small piece of lead shot before tightening down the set screw onto the die body. In my experience this makes the set screw more effective at keeping the lock ring in place and also does so without messing up the threads on the die body or stripping the threads off the set screw. The set screw is brass and can have either the threads strip or the allen head strip. The dies themselves work really well and are very smooth. A large percentage of my reloading die sets are RCBS because they work well at a very good price. Customer service from RCBS is also fantastic should you have an issue. If RCBS dies came with better die lock rings I might use them exclusively.

RCBS reloading die sets have always been of high quality. People that look only at pricing have no idea or dealt with reloading. These die sets are well machined and have very tight tolerances. hey will last a life time and can be handed down generation to generation. I only buy hardened dies and still lube and double polish cases before reloading them. If you want quality and precision ammunition, you have to use high quality equipment and take the steps to guarantee it. I find RCBS dies sets to be of the highest quality. They only use the best materials. Once set will stay there until readjusted. well polished. High tolerance. Always above expectations. A bargain for the price. Start with a set of high quality dies that are very economical. I would always recommend RCBS products.

UPDATE:Got a call from Brian at RCBS and he walked me thru the proccess and now I need to try it out and hopefully it works out prefectly for me!WLYK.Got the dies and finally figured out (from the help from RCBS tech support.) that there is a vent hole missng fon the "seating" die so all the brass/new resized... buckles when preforming the crimp operation. (No matter how much crimp you engauge.)Make sure you check "both" dies for these vent holes........Too lake to return to Amazon and RCBS wants me to send back to them out west coast! This is going to cost almost as much as I paid for the set.Will contact them today to see what else they can do about this isssue.
