🔥 Light up your adventures in a flash — campfire luxury, ultralight style!
The Campfire Defender Pop-Up Fire Pit Ultralite is a patented, portable fire pit that unfolds to a spacious 24" x 24" fire mesh surface. Weighing only 4 lbs and packing smaller than a camp chair, it sets up tool-free in under 30 seconds and cools down within a minute. Crafted from heavy-duty stainless steel alloy mesh, it delivers hotter, cleaner fires with up to 80% less smoke, perfect for millennial adventurers craving effortless warmth and social moments around the fire. Note: This ultralite version lacks ember guards and heat shields, so it’s not compliant with federal fire pan regulations and should be used cautiously on sensitive surfaces.

Super portable. Takes about 30 seconds to put together. The venting allows for a great fire with little smoke. I like this one without the sides, it allows for a more robust easy to see and feel fire. We love going to watch the sunset in the Buffalo outer harbor and with the fire pit it makes it even more enjoyable. My favorite new toy! I’m slightly concerned the “screen” material will eventually burn through but so far (5 fires in) no issues.

I Didn't want to get a steel fire pit that would sit outside, collect water, and rust just for the few weekends a year I want to start a fire, so this has worked great! Pros - Great for the occasional bonfire. It's very sturdy and I felt very confident throwing a lot of wood on it. Cons - There's a lot of sharp bits, so I can't handle this as carefree as a folding camping chair. The top ends of the rods which hold the screen have sharp edges, and the corners of the screen are also pretty sharp. It would have been great if they sanded them down.

Have been waiting to find the "right" firepit. I happened across this one in an Amazon search. It checks off all the boxes. I will upload pics soon. • Delivery - faster than anticipated and arrived with no damage. • Assembly - a breeze, and once assembled was even larger than I anticipated. • Sturdy - Absolutely. Once assembled, didn't budge. • Building the fire/coals - fantastic. I didn't know what to expect this first time, so I put my hot dogs on too soon and burnt them on the flame, but when the charcoals and wood got hot, they stayed hot for a good 2-3 hours. I put the equivalent of half a small bag of charcoal and about 4-5 small-ish sticks from the backyard. A little lighter fluid, got it going and it just kept going. Could have grilled a lot more meat and veggies, and next time I intend to. • Grilling grates - I got the 3-fold. I love that I did. It was really nice to be able to shift the grates to as needed. Again, really, once the coals spread out, I could have left it where it was, because the heat is so even, but I like having that choice, and it made it easy to add firewood after we were done cooking and just chillin'. • Radiant heat - I think this is my favorite part. It was kind of chilly (55 f), and so we were wrapped in blankets but the heat coming from the pit was fantastic. • Heat guard - works great. Set up was on an old deck. Cool air beneath the guard throughout, but in-between the guard and the pit, this heat was just coming out nicely all around, not to mention the heat from the top/inside of the pit. • Ember Mat - Sturdy and nice finished. Nice quality. Easy to clean. • Putting out the fire - I spread out the coals and got a spray water bottle and basically sprayed about a quarter of it to put out the rest of the coals. Took me about 5 minutes, but it was nice cause I didn't have to get ash-water on the heat guard or the mat below. It evaporates and cools at the same time, so I can just sweep the ash out if I want to or pick up the steel mesh to neatly dump in trash. Verdict - I love that I can use this at home. 8 people in deck chairs can fit around it comfortably. So glad that I can easily pack and take it camping, or anywhere. Hats off to Fireside Outdoor for an outstanding product.

I did not get the protector or anything addiitional. just the pit with the bag. it's so darn easy and lights quick, doesn't throw embers out and about. when we're done, we pour water over it, and rinse it off and put it away. for the $50 some dollars I paid, it's worth every penny and it does hold at least 40-50 pounds. It says 80 but it's not super huge, I don't know why you'd need that much wood. It's perfect for a driveway fire, or we even put it on our deck and just placed some foil underneath for protection. No problem at all!

We considered various options for a portable fire pit to take along on RV trips, including the well-advertised and trendy Solo Stove. No offense to Solo Stove, but the Pop-Up Fire Pit blows it and the rest of the competition away. It is extremely light and compact, packing away in a sleeve that makes for easy storing and carrying. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up. In addition to burning wood, we purchased the optional tri-fold cooking grates and cook our dinners over charcoal. But what makes this fire pit awesome is the fires it enables. Solo Stove cannot match it: unless you stand above the Solo Stove, you can’t feel the fire. This thing throws tons of heat and produces very little smoke, since the fire is well oxygenated through the mesh base. We typically find ourselves backing away from the fire because it’s so hot! On top of all that, the price is right! We love this thing and will absolutely buy another if we wear this one out. I can not recommend this strongly enough.
