Soot Eraser Sponge -Case of 12

These are FANTASTIC!. They are excellent for removing DRY soot. DRY is the key. It attracts and lifts dry soot like a magnet. If the soot has been touched, has handprints, or been sprayed or wiped with any type of liquid, it changes the bond and the soot won't come completely off with these dry sponges, you'll need to resort to a liquid method. But these cannot be beat for DRY soot. Nothing better. So use these before any degreaser or liquid cleaner. Use these dry and fresh from the package. For best results and to get maximum coverage always wear gloves so that you to keep oil and sweat off the sponge. Coverage varies depending on how thick the soot is. I averaged about 50 sq ft per sponge overall. If you have soot on your walls that does not readily come off with a vacuum or dry towel, try these.

I was able to use the twelve full sized soot erasers to remove soot from 10 large tables. Then by using a serrated knife and cutting all 12 erasers into 6 pieces each I was able to remove the soot from 46 folding chairs. Such versatility makes these soot erasers very cost effective.

Does not work dry as described. A microfiber cloth and spit is literally more effective Im sure there's uses for these sponges but cleaning carbon from smoke damage isn't one of them.

These work SO well. We had spot all over all walls from an issue with our fireplace and these were the only things that would work to remove it. As a caution, just know you have to use these FIRST before trying any other products. If you use like a degreaser (which will likely help a little bit also stain your wall with the soot) and then try to use these they won’t work. They need to be directly on soot and THEN you can do any additional cleanup if necessary.

A small oven sire created soot in my kitchen. The erasers work very well on the cabinets & ceiling, which is flat finish paint. The walls are semi gloss, seem to not be working as well. but I would order again if needed

It removed SOME of the soot from our wall, and I had to rub very hard. I stopped after a while, and opted to just repaint the wall. Not the best for a large area.

Worked great for painted drywall. Bought more.

For Smoke Damage: Professional restoration person told me about these. Great tool for detecting if smoke is present on item or its clean. (Items may look fine but end up having smoke particles) Does work to actually remove smoke, but takes time and patience to get items fully clean. !!! Use with BENEFECT Botanical Atomic Degreaser (if material allows) !!! After using the entire surface area of the sponge you can cut them in half, 'hotdog' ways, and have two large thin pieces you can continue using.
