My compressor only shuts off for a second or two. even if i'm not spraying. did i do something wrong?

Your compressor will shut off when it reaches the number you have it set for on the regulator. The compressor should only run when it needs to fill up with air.

Can I use different brand airbrushes with this compressor?

The compressor and hose use a standard 1/8" fitting, so they're a direct fit for Iwata, Harder & Steenbeck, Grex, and most cheap airbrushes. You'll need an adaptor for Badger, Paasche and other company's that go with the less common fittings.

How long can I use this before it begins over-heating? I'm wanting to use to bodypaint ..... Thanks :)

I'm not sure of an exact amount of time, I've used it for around two hours sometimes more. But if you turn it off between colors or cleaning, I don't think it should get too hot. I do have mine off the carpet though, I would recommend allowing air to flow around it. But overall I haven't burned my hand on it or anything like that. I hope that helps you.

I cant get the regulator to go on straight like the picture...it stops right before. Any ideas?

I had to tweak the attachment nut that's attached to the actual compressor to get me regulator to line up properly. Make sure you have some Teflon tape. This is normally called plumber's tape. It's real thin and white, comes in little white plastic rolls with a blue ring that snaps onto the roll. I found that by slowly back the nut out of the compressor, I could get the regulator to stand vertical. You may need to tighten it but don't over tighten because you could damage the compressor head.
