Orchestral Excerpts for Timpani with Audio CD

Probably the best excerpt book available.

"Orchestral Excerpts for Timpani" is a 'must have' book for any timpanist's library. Randy has meticulously researched the tempos of the excerpts; he listened to hundreds of recordings and found the 'sweet spot' for each one. He's also included different tuning schemes from many prominent timpanists. It's fascinating to see how Roland Kohloff, Cloyd Duff or Saul Goodman choreographed their tuning for an excerpt like the waltz from "Der Rosenkavalier." The audio CD is another excellent resource. It includes recordings of the excerpts played by top orchestras and helpful practice tracks.
