The headset fits well and is comfortable. It's plug and play with my Apple laptop and works properly through my keyboard's USB port. Having the remote is very useful, especially for muting the mic and it has saved me from embarrassment during web conferences from home. The headphones are better than expected but not audiophile quality (I'm sure nobody expects this to be). Also keep in mind that these do not block out outside sound.Perhaps the only downside (a minor one) is the short mic. It is not long enough to rest directly in front of my mouth, but turning up the mic input on my computer allows it to pick up the normal volume of my voice and have it audible on the other end.Other than that, the microphone is excellent and does not pick up excessive noise from the background. I have an air purifier set to the highest speed that is always turned on sitting just 4 feet away from me and it is not picked up by the microphone. I've tested this with a voice recording software and listened to the playback in silence (with the air purifier turned off). Just for comparison, I have an Olympus WS-823 voice recorder and that device picks up the sound of the air purifier from the other end of the room; a distance of 15 feet.In essence, if you are looking for a headset with an emphasis on mic quality and comfort because you are planning on wearing this for extended periods of time, this is a very good choice and perhaps the best choice in this price range. If a sound quality is more important than the microphone, maybe a gaming headset would be a better choice.

The perfect web conference headset!
I have just finished testing my new Sennheiser SC 60s, the sixth headset I have purchased in two years, and (at least on day one) they are far and away the best I've ever purchased for under $40. Specifically:* In music playback, they have a subjectively full-frequency response (caveat, this was not evaluated with equipment and, like everyone over 25 I do not have full-frequency hearing).* Sound isolation is moderate, as expected from on-ear rather than over-ear headphones. I wouldn't use these for high-fidelity music reproduction.* Voice recording quality, when mic boom is positioned just outside outer corner of the mouth, was excellent both for recording and over a JoinMe web conference.* Microphone noise cancellation is outstanding. During playback of a voice recording made three feet away from a fan, voice was clear, but close listening was necessary to hear the sound of the fan. Recording while one foot from the fan, with wind noise plainly audible during the recording, was reduced at playback to just a mild and undistracting sound audible behind the clear voice.* Microphone directionality permitted loud typing away on a noisy keyboard to be only barely audible behind a clear voice during playback.* Comfort is good. These headphones sit gently on the ear, but I would not want to wear them all day.* Compatibility: Headset was instantly recognized by Windows 10 computer; no other platform tested.Caveat: While these are the best headphones I have ever used for web conferencing, I don't know how long these qualities will hold up over time. I plan to update this evaluation in a year.Hello all, this is me 5 years later (apologies if you've been waiting the previous 4 years for my follow-up ;). The reviewed Sennheisers lasted 4 years before almost daily use caused the wire casing to fray just below the ear cups. They still worked perfectly, but I replaced them since a reliable headset is vital in my work. This set is just as good as the last, and I have recommended them to many clients in online teaching. To be honest—but please don't share this with Sennheiser—they'd probably be the best you could buy at US$80. The fact that they are only $40 is quite remarkable.

Does exactly what i wanted, slightly too warm.
These headphones give me exactly what I wanted, stereo speakers to help block out noise in my environment and a noise cancelling microphone to keep others from hearing the same noises. I have had school buses, emergency vehicles and street sweepers outside the window, I have also had a dog barking in the room behind me and the people I'm talking to don't hear anything but me.The headset is also comfortable and lightweight enough to keep around my neck/shoulders when I am not on a call. The only complaint I have, and this might be specific to me, is that my ears get very warm when wearing these headphones. After a 1 hour or longer meeting it feels like I'm roasting my ears. Since I don't have a lot of long meetings it's not a huge problem and I am even debating buying a second pair to have as a spare.

THE best under $50 microphone for podcast guests!
I have done over 700 podcast episodes, and this is the only headset that I have found stands up to the process of mailing a guest a headset and having them return it to me. More than 300 guests have bought or used this headset for an interview and I can say that my very picky editor attests to the quality of this microphone. It is plug and play, and just works! If you are looking for a good microphone for your podcast guests or, just looking for a microphone that you can use to travel and make Zoom calls or even do your remote podcasting on the road, you need to look no further.
