Surf Longer, SUP Stronger is a must read for athletes who want to continue to be active as the aging process catches up to them. The book gives a very clear introduction to the medically based techniques that are promoted, then applies these to surfing and stand-up paddle boarding. Life-long surfers can benefit from reading the tips and analyzing their own postures and approaches to surfing. The pictures made visualizing the techniques quite easy. I found the sections on posture and movement in everyday life (driving, computers, etc.) to be helpful as well. Surfing is a life style, so it is important to think about how everyday actions can influence your life as a surfer!

Great book!
This is a great book. My wife and I both read it the first week it arrived and we were literally fighting over who got to finish first. She is a massage therapist and Dr. Adam's explanation of the Alexander technique and several other concepts has helped in her practice. I'm in my 40's and proper technique is getting more and more important every day! This book excels at taking complex medical based techniques and explains how they transfer to a day on the water.. We highly recommend this book and will be buying a second copy.

A really great read. Full of information on the practical mechanics and application of techniques for board sports and a really interesting perspective on our relationship to the water, our world and ourselves. The title implies a book for a specific activity but the principles it teaches can be incorporated into all aspects of how you live and move. Definitely worth your time.

Informative but . . .
The book is informative however sometimes words just aren't enough. It does have photos on different topics, however it fails to provide a series of photos or diagrams representing the correct posture and techniques discussed. Similarly, specific direction is lacking in some sections. To try and implement the recommendations you will have to read and research other books, Google, and YouTube. Save your money and just Google correct techniques and sport specific fitness, then use your common sense.

I bought this book for my daughter who is a physical therapist
I live on Cape Cod , and I found this book to be very informative for various activities of an active life. I bought a copy of Surf Longer, SUP Stronger for my daughter who is a physical therapist, and she found that Dr Adams had some very helpful information that she could use.

I really enjoyed reading this book and was impressed with the way the book is set up. I haven't surfed for a while but found valuable infoin every chapter that can be applied to my life and my lifestyle. I strongly recommend this book to everyone.
