Blue Sea Systems 7183 285-Series Circuit Breaker, Surface Mount, Surface Mount, 50A

This replaced a cheap knockoff that I tried to get away with in a non critical system. Buy this good one the first time and don't go trying to chase gremlins later wasting a lot of time.

I have used multiple blue seas circuit breakers they are by far the best I have found and well worth the cost.

The switch mechanism did not have the expected "click" when disengaging but functions fine.

These breakers are great quality. There's not a need for a long review. I would use these over any other breaker. DO NOT CHEAP OUT on circuit breakers though. This is a very important item in most cases, and quality is definitely needed.

Another good product from Blue Sea. Do yourself a favor, look at this brand and product line when wiring or coming up with wiring projects both marine and automotive. I think their products are well made and logically planned out, worth the money , rather than having a melt-down or damage due to product failure as you will experience with some of the lesser quality items.

If you have a boat with batteries going to trolling motors, fish finder or lights these are the best. I find that even with everything turned off, there is a little bleeding of power your batteries go through as the wires are always supplied with power from the battery. By disconnecting the breaker, it shortens the amount of lines that are energized and therefore preserving more battery levels during storage or transit/.

Perfect for my RV battery bank! I have one set up between my solar charge controller and the batteries, and one set up between the batteries and the load from the trailer. Works great as a switch when I'm working on parts of the system as well!
