I like soy candles so I do buy them very often in stores since as Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Target. They make my room smells good, and help me relax. I also love the warm and romantic light the candles bring when I study. So I'm familiar with how they burn and what to expect from them. Stores rarely sell soy tea light candles, that's why I turn to Amazon and discover Wicker Wicks after a few hours of research and comparisons.After reading through the 5-star reviews and the description (hand-poured, made in USA, lead-free wicks), I have high hopes for these candles. Probably too high so when I receive them, I feel pretty disappointed.PRO : 1) They arrive in a paper box, which is good for the environment. 2) They also have a faint sweet scent that I don't mind. 3) They also burn clear.Then they fall short.CONS : 1) I love the idea of using the paper package, but I wish they make the box bigger. It's too small so it squishes the wicks into the candles themselves (as in photo), so half of my candles have a dent left by the wicks after i straighten them up. Which make them look messy and not pretty if I want to give away as a gift. 2) I may have a bad batch but quite a few of my candles come with the wicks being glued not in the middle. As the container is plastic, uneven wick will result in the candle melts more to one side instead in the middle, therefore it can burn the plastic and become hazardous. As you can see in the photos, both of my candles' melt circles are leaning to one side, instead of being in the middle. And this is the first twos I used so far and they were burnt only for 30mins. I blew them out because one of them reached the plastic rim. Makes me feel like this is a rushed job. 3) There's a lot of of smoke when putting out for the small size of the cotton wicks. Even more then my store candle which is 3 times its size.I really wish I'd like these soy candles because I plan to buy more initially. But I'm not even sure if I will use this batch, because their quality seem subpar so far. Also for a $1 per that tiny candle, they are not cheap. I can buy a much bigger candle at the Dollar Tree for the same price. But I buy these because I expect a lot from them. So when they don't meet my expectation, I feel cheated out of my money.I feel like I'm being too critical, but I'm passionate about candles and I hope my review can help others in deciding if the product is for them as well. Especially when none of us can see in advance and pick what we will get online.

I bought this to use with my teapot warmer. I don’t want to use regular candles around my pet bird. I hate overly scented anything. These don’t smell, do not give off obnoxious odors, but they only last about one hour. The package was flimsy and half open but I could live with that as Amazon packed it well in a box with other items.

The first thing I noticed was the minimalist label and packaging, which I'm a huge fan of. Some of the candles did fall out of the package during transit and were mixed in with my other purchases from Amazon, but the candles were so well made it didn't even matter! I think some other types of candles or at least the wick would have broken off but this wasn't the case at all. I was excited to try out some candles from a small company and I'm pretty impressed. I lit two of the candles for a few hours each night for three nights until they went out, so they lasted quite a while. I got my money's worth and I will order again once I start running low. I use tea lights on a regular basis to light my Himalayan salt lamp to naturally purify the air in my home. I am an AP Environmental Science teacher who knows the hazards of chemical exposure from products used in our homes. I am slowly trying to eliminate these toxic chemicals and Wicker Wicks tea lights are a perfect fit for my family.Not only do these candles last longer and cleaner burning, they do not use palm oil. I am also trying to eliminate any products containing palm oil also known as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is also used in shampoos, soaps, and toothpastes. Palm oil comes from palm tree plantations in the Indonesian rainforest. To make room for these vast monocultures, large areas of rainforest are being destroyed at an alarming rate and have devastated the habitat of the endangered orangutan. The candles are a bit expensive for what you get. BUT, these are the best soy candles I've found to date. I've tried others, soy works and other tea lights from Amazon, but none better than these lights. Tea lights from Target work as my next to go choice when I can't get the Wicker Works at providing the consistent heat needed to burn my scented oils. I have a oil burner from pier 1 and nothing works as best as Wicker Works. I only wish they provided larger quantity options. The quality of each individual tea light is unsurpassed, not messy with candle residue, probably because they are hand poured. Plus, I like providing small family owned business my business over other larger companys. Wicker Works product quality is unmatched by what I've found by trial and error. You have to try these, you'll get hooked!

Really solid candle. Timely delivered. Nicely boxed. No scent whatsoever... which is super great. Also, stayed lit longer than expected. I bought these for my salt candle holders however, I am a bit hesitant because they are cased in plastic instead of the usual aluminum. Not sure if continued use would interfere with the salt benefits. I'm definitely not a fan of heating aluminum and definitely love the quality of the plastic... just wondering. The one time I used them, it was fine and I will use again. The quality is worth the expense for me. I don't think you will be disappointed...

They’re great, I don’t know how long they’re meant to last but they seem to not last me very long. Maybe I just use them too much. They go in some essential oil burners I have. Not that you need luxury in this type of thing but they do look quite fancy. I would enjoy if the outer casing wasn’t made of plastic though. Is there a more ~environmental~ option? Or is this better than the usual metal casings? That’s a question I’ll leave to the audience
