Penguin Caffeinated Peppermints, One 16 oz Bag and One 1.75 oz Tin

I work in a warehouse in 12 hour shifts, and the work is NOT mentally stimulating. On the floor, we are only allowed to have plain water in a clear spill proof container, and hard candy. These mints are excellent for insomniacs who have long boring work days. The only reason I deducted a star is because they are a bit on the chalky side, and the bitterness of the caffeine does show through. This may not be an issue with other flavors though. Next I think I'll try the chocolate or wintergreen varieties. I will definitely be a return customer.

Kept me up the whole time in classas long as I kept continually taking more mints, the moment I stopped I'd go back to zombie mode. Would be great if the caffeine concentration were double

I recently quit drinking soda and can't drink coffee, so these are now my primary source for caffeine. They're perfect for me: two for a little burst of energy, then another one now and then to keep it up. There's not too much caffeine in each mint, so if you're used to larger amounts, you might not notice, but I do. They also have a bit of a chalky taste, but they are still quite enjoyable as a mint, even if you don't consider the caffeine added into the equation.I really like that they sell these in a bulk bag with one tin. I buy another brand of mints, and can only get them in tins so I have a bunch of empties that I repurpose and give away. This way of selling the mints is ideal for me.Great for long trips where restrooms are few and far between. (Or when you're stuck in a middle-of-the-night mountain pass closure because a semi hit a bear - true story!)

Since I ordered before, I knew what to expect. However, the first mints (in the can) were very soft instead of the hard candy I'm used to. They melted in less than a minute (like butter mints), whereas the previous order mints took many minutes. Otherwise, the same flavor. Just wish I could suck on them longer... Hope the rest in the big bag are more solid. Box says not expired for another year, so I'm guessing that's not the reason.UPDATE: Perhaps they just needed to be exposed to air (the first ones were from the sealed can). Anyway, all my subsequent mints have been nicely hard enough to suck on for the extended time I prefer. But of course, not too hard to crack teeth when I get anxious and bite into them. LOVE THEM! I've updated my 4 star review to a 5 star!

I bought the tin and bag combo thinking it was the most cost efficient. The mints in the bag ARE NOT the same as in the tin- If mints can go bad, this is what they'd taste like.

I like the peppermint Penguin mints. I have had them in the past and enjoyed them immensely. I do not drink coffee and my access to tea is limited so I am happy with my mints. I wish they came in recloseable bags so I don't have to scrounge for a ziploc bag to store them in.

Tast of these I would rate at two stars, the caffeine affect is as described.

I FINALLY found them again! These are such a great way get a boost without the hassle of stopping for coffee. They taste good and you can control the caffeine amount. I had some years ago and it finally occurred to me to look on Amazon, sure enough, there they were! Yea!
