This stuff is great. It’s good for fever blisters, cold sores and more. I have a sore on my nose from wiping my nose so much and it’s just about gone in a day.

LOVE this stuff. For me I think it works better than Abreva, Carmex and a few others. Really shortens the duration of cold sores especially if you start using at first cold sore tingle feeling. And can we talk about the price??? what's not to like

It helped heal a sore on my bottom lip in days time. Easy to apply and the taste was not bad. My daughter keeps it on hand for any type of lip protection.

I've gotten cold sores since I was 4, and mine are stress/sugar and sun/alcohol triggered. I think every one has slightly different versions of cold sores, but if yours are triggered like mine are, go get this now! I got it because of another review that said they use it for their sun triggered cold sore. I don't know if it works as well for people with food triggered cold sores but NOTHING I have ever tried has worked like this. I went and bought it after a day of applying Abreva (twenty bucks!) and having my cold sore get progressively worse. I only get one once or twice a year but nothing has ever worked very well. I started applying this yesterday morning and already my cold sore is starting to go away, and it's bad, like can't-go-in-public-cause-people-think-I-have-mouth-leprosy bad. But if you apply every two hours and pat off old stuff before applying new, it's almost magic. It sucks out the yucky and heals up the skin. Don't suffer any longer! I'll update when I see if this will fully prevent them next time. Update: 7/30/15 I haven't had a major outbreak since I started keeping this on hand, If my lips start to feel itchy or I notice a small blister, I apply some of this and the next day......nothing happens!!! No blister, no scab, no itchy, no red. I hope that this works as well for everyone with cold sores, as I know what a pain they can be, this has fixed something that has plagued (hehe) me, all my life. It's nice because it's not something I have to use unless I notice a problem, and then it's gone immediately.

Funky color, Funky consistency, questionable "Active Ingredient" & Vague instructions: but the darn stuff Just Works. Working Backwards from above: Vague Instructions: "Apply liberally as needed." Well, the more you use, the sooner you'll need a refill! But beyond that, have found that a TINY bit of this stuff goes a long ways: try to get Just Enough on the tip of my finger to actually SEE it, and that is enough to spread across the lower lip. YMMV, but suggest trying a small amount at first, with reasonably frequent application & find out whether that also works for you. As others have noted, this seems to work best if you get it going as soon as you get a hint of a cold sore, and realize that you will probably need more than a Single Application for full effect - but, caught reasonably early, incipient cold sores fail to fully "bloom." Active Ingredient: On the tube of "Super Lysine + Cold Sore Treatment," the "Active Ingredient" is Menthol - presumably the only ingredient "proven" to do anything. Lysine itself shows up as an Inactive Ingredient about midway through a rather long list of "Inactive Ingredients." Nonetheless - and whether it is due to the inclusion of Lysine or not - this stuff actually works, at least here, albeit perhaps more as a Preventative than a Cure. Still, this seemed to be a prime winter for cold sores, but the Super Lysine kept them at bay - and we never even opened the tube of Abreva we purchased at the same time, as it simply was not needed. Funky Color & Consistency: Again, others have already noted that this stuff has a funky Brown-ish color. Furthermore - at least for the tube we received - it also seemed like the components had separated into a more gel-like brown(ish) substance + a nearly clear liquid. This did not seem to impact effectiveness, however we also discovered that "gentle" kneading / shaking of the tube seemed to recombine the materials. As a side observation, upon first opening the tube it expelled a rather large glob of the contents. We were able to coax this back into the tube, but it might be worthwhile to take care in usage to avoid Wasting the contents (and especially given our PERSONAL experience of only needed a Tiny amount at each application!). Many treatments for medical conditions seem to vary in effectiveness from one person to another, and suspect "Super Lysine" is not different (that was one reason why we purchased BOTH this AND Abreva). Am happy to report that in OUR case the Super Lysine has proven an effective Preventative, and given its (relatively) reasonable cost it is therefore probably worth trying.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Ok, so I purchased this product back in March 2016 as a precaution, because I've gotten cold sores As long as I can remember and for those of us who tend to get them, they make us very self conscious and always seem to appear at the worst times!. Let me tell you, I am EXTREMWLY happy I took a chance with this product. I just recently got a cold sore and as soon as I felt the tingling on my lower lip (after screaming in anger of course, that my old friend has returned) I immediately jumped up and searched for this Super Lysine+ ( i ordered it early this year I had no idea where I could have thrown it lol). I followed the directions of applying and reapplying every two hours while I was home and able to I chose not to apply it at work or have it on in public, because it does create a shiny glow that draws attention to it, but after leaving work I applied it before my drive home. So, let me put this in perspective for whomever may be reading this: I felt tingling on my lip Thursday morning before work (ugh) I applied the product every two hours while at home before getting ready for work. When it was time for me to go I took a thin piece of tissue a dabbed the residual substance off completely off. I DABBED it off. I ensured that I did not accidentally rub it in any way to irritate it. On my drive home I reapplied and continued this process in the following days. Waking up today, Sunday morning, I nocticed it was almost completely gone. It's not even gross looking like they usually get. Yeah can literally barely see anything. I'm just very happy with this product. I had to come write this review. It cut healing time in half as advertised. Only 3 days of a noticeable cold sore!! Unbelievable!! 5 Stars!
