Sturdy-Never Break From Normal Use
Exceptional value for a pair of sturdy polymer boot jacks. Ignore the bulls-in-a-China-closet people who probably manage to break other durable goods every day. I was oilfield, and was always astonished at ginsels' ability to break sturdy tools. Some people can break a hickory shovel handle within minutes. Others will hand the shovel down to their children. Oftentimes, youth, ignorance, and lack of self-control put objects within their immediate environment in jeopardy. I tried my polymer boot jacks on a problem pair of boots. Eight year old Double H harness boots. They were in storage, which let them shrink a bit, and they got very stiff. Sturdy US boots made from the thickest leather. I considered tossing them because they reinjure my lower back when I pull them off. Simple to doff snug boots with these boot jacks. Pull boot heel back into fork, which will be above the 'ball' of your heel, and barely above the heel cup most boots have. Do not wedge tightly. Just a little into the fork! The fork gets smaller for the ladies and kids, not because you need to approach bottom. Don't just pull, but lever your heel out of the heel pocket, first. Too deep into fork, and you won't be able to squirm and put English on your ankle to finish pulling and wriggling to freedom. Point your foot and toes down like a ballerina on tip-toes, but stay flexible. You are literally seeking the path of least resistance. They don't teach that in video games. The boot jacks are quite sturdy. No reasonable and prudent person could break one in a hundred years. They are not plug and play. They require a very short learning curve. It is not brute force that gets your foot out, it is leverage, and grip at the correct location. Combine that with a limp ankle and foot that will follow the shape of the boot. Sizing: Fork is 3/16 narrower than 'old school' wooden boot jack. Fine for my 10-1/2 EE boots. My boot heel goes slightly deeper into the wooden one. No big deal. These polymer boot jacks are fine for western boots, rubber boots, and even my big padded and leather lined old school Norwegian welt hiking boots. They fit into the fork far enough, not that they need a boot jack. Larger sizes than mine could be iffy, and may necessitate a larger wooden boot jack. Without looking, I know my massive snow pac boot heels will not fit, but pac boots are easy to get out of, anyway. The felt bootie comes out, usually, which reminds me, if your boots are a bit small, use thinner socks, and mind the texture. You will need more slippery socks if your boots are too snug. Prevent problems in the first place. Don't buy undersized boots. I imagine a person could wedge their size 12 foot into a size 8 boot, and break one of these, but the problem would be them, not the excellent bargain priced pair. I nearly passed on this product because of bad reviews. Don't let bad reviewERS scare you away. Now, I have a bootjack to go with the rubber boots in my pickup, a bootjack for the porch, and the wooden one in the bedroom. People are not breaking fingers and thumbs pulling off their boots. Why? The pain would be too intense to apply that kind of force. They will put vastly greater force from their powerful legs against a rather small and slender boot jack fork, because they feel no pain, and the victim is unable to cry out in pain. Sadly, pain is some people's only teacher.

Sturdy and lightweight
These are sturdy and lightweight. The 2-pack was perfect for me and my husband. He has one in his closet and I have one in mine. This is THE thing that you need if you wear boots. Makes getting your boots off a single, swift movement. I have a little hook that I hang it on in my closet so I can always find it. The boot jack has a soft rubbery lining that will not mar your boots.

Great utility and works so super well even on my toughest to take off boot!!
It is as expected, molded plastic with a light rubber coating either molded or glued on the front where it catches the boot to prevent scuffing or marring the leather heel. I was very skeptical when I got it because it felt light and I thought the plastic will break like some other buyers experienced. Then I tried using it and couldn't even get the heel inside the U so I thought it's a wrap. But then I tried a different angle and technique and lo and behold... the boot just came straight off like I was pulling off a baseball hat... totally effortless and seamless. The most telling and best proof of concept was when I tried using this on my 14" shaft Ringer boot after wearing it out on the town. That boot with the tall shaft is a pain to take off even with 2 people and this was after being out and my feet being swollen from dancing all night. I slipped the heel in the U catch, and lifted my leg and man if that Ringer boot didn't just slip right off like I was taking off a pair of slippers. Man, that 1 experience alone was worth the $10 compared to my usual routine of sitting on the floor wriggling that boot back and forth for 5 minutes while cursing the world to damnation for inflicting those boots on me. For reference, I am a size 10D and a 14" boot goes up my calf pretty much to the top where the calf tapers to the back of the knee. No idea on durability as I've only had it for 2 days and used it twice so far but man, it handled my most difficult to take off boot like nothing... and since this is a 2-pack, I'll have a spare if I mess up and break the first one and I can learn from that mistake and take better care of the second one. The wooden one from Ariat was $20 and this one you get 2 packs for $9. As long as you don't stomp on it, I don't see how it would break. The only thing that I had to do though, was use a sharp knife to take off some rubber molding flash from inside the U. There were 2 little rubber bumps on either side of the U from the rubber molding around the middle part of the long side of the U. I thought it might hit the boot and scuff it. It probably wouldn't make any difference but it felt like a hard rubber bump that stuck out so I shaved them off. Knowing now how to properly hook my boot in the U, that part would have never touched the boot anyway so no need to shave it if you get one and it bothers you.

Very useful and helpful
These are well made and work very well and are especially helpful for getting shoes and boots that are difficult to remove off of your feet! Have really appreciated having them this winter. I got them for my husband and l and our grown kids and their families too. They also are finding them helpful to remove their work boots!

Boot Jack - boot remover
I was having a hard time getting my boots off, and to avoid damaging the back of the boots I bought these jacks. The jacks are light weight but sturdy plastic with a softer rubbery portion that goes against the leather of the boot, making it easy for the boot to be pulled off and without any damage.
