Great tube bender for a great price.
Great tool for bending aluminum tubing. I used it to bend some tubing as seen in the photo for some high pressure lines. I will say that when using the bender, it is highly recommended you lightly oil the tube you are bending with WD-40 or somenother light oil as the lube helps the tool glide over the tube smoothly. Improvements could be to use a roller on the back side of the bender to eliminate having to lubricate the tubing. Also the tool could be better by being designed with detacheable attachments for making smaller radius bends. But overall performance of this tool is great and the price is fine for bending 1/2 inch O.D. piping. Recommended highly for DIY's, Mechanics and Plumbers, Electricians.

Right tool for the job
Originally I used the coil spring style bender as it was already in my toolbox. Didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. So I bought this bender for 1/2” aluminum fuel line for my car. Makes very nice bends. I was unsure of the quality based off the price, but it does exactly what it’s supoosed to do. Very good bang for your buck. Don’t spend $150 on a different pipe bender! Buy this one! Very happy with it

Heated the tubing to a dull red in the forge and it worked perfectly
Bought this to bend some 1/2 inch OD steel tubing for the arms on some wall lamps I was forging. Tubing was 3/8 ID, so 1/16 inch wall thickness. Tried to bend it cold and could barely get a bend even started. Just not enough leverage. Heated the tubing to a dull red in the forge and it worked perfectly. You do get some tooling marks on the outside of the bend, but I think with practice, tweaking how you position the free portion of the tool, you could reduce that. For the money, I'm very satisfied.

Defective product
As assembled, the bending tool has two different sizes which are clearly not compatible with each other. The tool was advertised as a 1/2 inch tube bender. The round, fixed, stationary part does have a 1/2 inch width while the upper movable part which applies pressure to the tube during the bending process is 3/8 wide or smaller. The two different sizes makes it impossible to bend a 1/2 inch tube without crushing it. It appears that somehow the two different sizes got mixed up during assembly. In all the decades I have been an Amazon customer I have never returned a product and during the last several years I have purchased one or more products almost every week.Since I am an international customer, returning the product is going to be time consuming and costly but I have no choice because the tool is totally unusable for any purpose that I can think of. Did the seller reduce the price of the tool to get rid of an unusable, defective inventory?FOLLOWUP POST...After posting the above review the seller contacted me via email and asked what they might do to help. I responded that I was an international customer and returning the item would be too much trouble and expense. I have not heard from them since and expect I never will. I strongly suspect seller knew they were marketing an unusable defective product. I will be watching for any product sold by this seller and will never purchase from them again.

works great
a great bender, works great on the stainless tubing that I had to bend. they claim .04 wall thickness, mine was .02 and it worked flawlessly. i'm sure it would bend the thicker stuff, and the soft tubing would be a breeze.

Worth it!
For the price it’s good yea kinks the pipe a bit at the bends nothing to serious but what bender doesn’t? Unless you get the swagelok ones for stainless steel but obviously if you looking at these you don’t have 300 + dollars to spend on one bender but this is really good for the price highly recommended it!

Good bender
Works great on copper tubing. However I had to file and polish certain areas where the tubing fit because it would create heavy scratching which was very unsightly and difficult to make smooth bends. Now it makes nice smooth bends.
