PERFECT!
My new Knipex cutters actually cut a hole in my pocket. So I moved them to another pocket. In a week, there was a hole in that pocket. Well, yeah... they're CUTTERS. So I though the solution might be a nice leather case. I searched and searched, and thought I'd take a chance that this might work. And the fit is perfect! The strap is quite long, so I'm thinking about shortening it. But that's on the B-list, since it's fine for now. The leather seemed quite dry, and all I had was some walnut oil. I read some information about various oils, and read that we have to be careful that some oils go rancid after being applied to leather, and smell bad. I guess I got lucky again, because I treated the leather with the walnut oil several weeks ago, and it smells great. It smells like fresh leather with walnut oil on it. Go figure! I've abused this case by not always hanging it from my belt--but rather, just throwing it in my pocket, where it gets sat on, dropped, etc., etc., and it's holding up just perfectly. And no more cutting into my pants. I would recommend this case very highly. And the price is just amazing. If I knew how great it is, I'd pay three times as much for it.

High quality untreated leather
From my experienceNegatives firstThe leather came super dry that it developed cracks on both sides by the threads but nothing too serious.PositivesThe leather feels thick enough to make it last a long time with regular care.My crescent 6 1/2 inch slip joint pliers are a perfect fit in this leather sheath, the fit is snug but easy to put the pliers in and out of the sheath. The leather seems to not be treated with anything so for me it's perfect for cleaning with saddle soap first than give it a couple of passes with leather conditioner and last, put some mink oil to seal the leather and giving the leather a darker color "natural patina" look and to somewhat waterproof it.The pictures are after I gave it my routine of leather care. All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

Gingher dressmaker shears fit perfectly!
This sheath fits my 8” Gingher dressmaker’s shears perfectly! I was looking for something that would be sturdy and not get punctured by the shears but would also protect them, since they were an investment and these ones did not come with a sheath. This was exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I kind of wish it was a clip instead of a loop on the back, sing I’m not going to be putting these on a belt full time, but that’s so minor that I can’t complain, especially for the price. I like the snap, because the scissors feel secure, and all of the grommets and stitching feels very durable. Not sure how it would stand up to constant use in a construction environment, but I have no doubt that this sheath will be faithfully protecting my shears for many years!

Some improvements needed
Bought this holster to hold my Husky brand wire clippers, as I use them constantly where I work. I wanted a holster with a keeper strap, so they wouldn't get lost when I climb in and out of the forklift, etc.The first day I wore it, the bottom half of the snap popped right off. This is a common issue with products made with the cheap quality snaps most of us would buy from places like Amazon, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. If the leather is a certain thickness, the inner shaft of the bottom half of the snap can't stick through enough to peen over for a solid bond.As I am a somewhat proficient leather worker, I chose to not return it, and fixed it myself. After removing both halves of the bottom part of the snap, I hammered the leather with a ball peen to thin it out right there, then repunched the hole for the shaft of the snap. This gave the shaft a little more meat to peen down when I reinstalled the fresh snap parts. The keeper strap itself was also a little too wide, and interfered with quickly removing the clippers, so I shaved off about 1/8th of an inch of leather on each side.If you're looking for something functional right out of the box, you might have mixed results, but if you're at all able to perform basic leatherwork, this holster would provide an excellent platform to work with. The leather is top quality, and the stitching and riveting are all well done.

Awesome Leather & Construction
This is my second "768". My first was over11 years ago and worn 5-6 days a week, it would still function but I had a little strong acid mishap. I wear my tools around my waist and I use 4 of these CLC holders daily. They are well designed, excellent thick leather, very well stitched & riveted, and extremely durable... I have highly recommended CLC Leather products for many years and will continue to do so. Excellent Product, priced far less than most... Will buy more... *****

No longer USA made - not as pictured
I had used this pliers holster in the past, in fact I had owned several of them over the years. They were all USA made, and top quality. The one I got this time, however, was made of thinner leather, which also seemed somewhat more delicate. Went from 5 star quality to 3 1/2 star. Rounded down to 3 stars because the picture clearly shows USA markings on the holster, yet the one I got was made in India.
