Just awesome + 3yr update
This was the biggest outlay I’ve ever made for a single monitor, so wanted to make sure it was something I wouldn’t regret buying given the price. Before I purchased mine, I had two 32inch screens side by side which was great apart from the bezels between the two monitors. This wasn’t much of an issue when using them for work as a swing trader, but quite annoying when playing the few games I play to relax.I eventually found myself at a point where I either bought an ultra-wide monitor or a VR headset. Given VR wasn’t supported on the few games I play, and of course not needing VR for my work, I thought the only avenue was for this monitor.Even though my computer hardware was top notch some years ago (i7-9700k CPU @3.3.60GHz, 32GB ram), I was surprised to see the monitor was still amazing even though I didn’t have the very latest computer hardware to utilise it to its full protentional.Although this monitor can run at 240Hz, I thought most modern games running anything below half of that would be unplayable. Absolutely not! I was horrified to see the Gforce GTX 1650 graphics card I had installed didn’t have a DisplayPort, only a HDMI, so instantly believed this would end up with horrendous screen tear and lag given it could not utilise the G-Sync feature. Again, it was something which didn’t even materialise. The few games I occasionally play were still able to be played at both the maximum resolution (5120x1440), together with the maximum detail within the game, all without any noticeable difference in frame rate.Things to note:Serial number is behind the plastic cable shield at the rear of the monitor. Make note of this before you clip the thing in place as it’s a bit of pain to remove afterwards. You need to go to Samsung.com to register for the warranty.Would have liked the stand support to be a bit more robust given how heavy the monitor is. Although it does do the job, the monitor tends to move when switching it off or dusting. The bottom left side of the monitor started an annoying clicking sound after a couple of days, which I was told was due to the bezel heating up. Fortunately, this stopped after a few weeks and hasn’t returned. The most important question:If I could turn back time would I still buy it? That is an absolute 'yes'! It has changed both the way I work and the few games I play. I'm even looking to buy another one for my partner who adopted my old monitors, especially as these monitors are so much cheaper.UPDATE: + 2.9 yearsHas to be one of my most loved monitors of all time, and this is from someone who tends to buy leading edge equipment. This monitor has been mostly faultless (see above about clicking sound) even though it has been used for about 24,000 hours of operation, some of which has been 19h+.I’m so used to having such a wide screen, it’s always a surprise when someone visiting for the first time comments on how amazing the monitor is.Yeah, it was ground breaking when it was released, and even today is a superior monitor.

Excellent Quality, Stupidly Short Power Cable
I was paranoid to place an order due to bad publicity regarding faults with the earlier release of this model. Mercifully, my reservations were unfounded. The monitor has no dead pixels, and is overall excellent quality. A first rate piece of work. I've given the 5 stars due to its quality, although there are some downsides worth considering. Firstly, if you're a designer, this is a terrible productivity monitor for you, as although there's plenty of real estate, you'll never see a straight line again. Secondly, access to where the cables plug in is very awkward indeed. Cables are essentially sealed into the unit, and it's a two-person job to rearrange everything. Therefore if you need to change cables/connections often, you're in for a nightmare. Thirdly, the power cable is only about 1m long, which is ridiculous, given that the monitor is about that wide already. By the time it's gone through all the cable routing etc. it barely reached the floor, let alone the journey horizontally to my power outlet. Due to the lack of access I ended up buying a short extension cable for it rather than face the nightmare of trying to access and unplug the power cable. Highly recommended to buy a long right-angled power cable before you set this thing up. Fourthly, if you were to have an issue with it, dismantling and shipping it back would be a real pain. Finally, the curvature takes some getting used to. Initially it'll be uncomfortable, and odd. I would say after only a day or two I don't notice it now.

Wow, just wow. What an unbelievable monitor
This is one beast of a monitor (just over 16Kg, it literally is a beast). The the box arrived it already gave an impression of what to expect. Just one thing to note, when unboxing, take all the bits out and then remove the top polystyrene, that's where I found the actual build instructions, this wasn't in the main manual pack on the top polystyrene cover. The instructions are clear enough to attach the leg to the stand and then the stand to the monitor still in the box. It does recommend attaching the wires first too and route it into the stand. Finally add the two decretive plastic pieces for the wire cover and rear ring.Once flipped onto the legs, then remove the box forward. I guess this method avoids putting pressure on the monitor as the bezel is small and very easy to damage the screen. The instructions then explain where to hold the monitor to avoid damage. (I am wondering if this is how some people are experiencing light leaks in the bezel)I used a USB-C to Displayport 1.4 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08B3SB5VC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)cable to attach this to my Mac Mini M1, and after quite a delay during boot, it finally presented a glorious display. Resolution wise, its running full native without any changes and a quick adjustment gave 120Hz. Not got 240Hz to work yet.Would I recommend this monitor, absolutely. It expensive, but it is an absolute joy to use and the aggressive curve works really well.
