Unfortunately my wife has just come down with a medical condition related to tinnitus. Among other things, this problem has ruined her sleep, causing her to awaken several times a night and then having difficulty falling back to sleep.She saw a neurologist who suggested, in addition to being tested in the next week or so, she should get a white noise machine.We came home from the neurologist's office and immediately began looking here on Amazon. I looked (on my computer) and she looked (on hers). I had picked about six of them, including this one but she picked this one only. She said that this < Housbay White Noise Machine with 31 Soothing Sounds, 5W Loud Stereo Sound, Auto-Off Timer, Adjustable Volume, Sleep Sound Machine for Baby, Kid, Adult -Wood Grain > is just what she wanted. It does not have a nightlight, which we do not need or want, and its wood-grain design is very nice and fits well into our bedroom.I immediately ordered it (around 4:00 PM) and, with Amazon's amazing shipping, it arrived around 8:00 PM that evening!We have now used it for two nights running, leaving it on all night. Her preferred setting is White Noise, Lowest Setting with a fairly high volume level.It has been helping her. She has been able to sleep for a much longer period of time and, when she does awaken, this machine overcomes the tinnitus-type problem.I had thought that having this white noise throughout the night would interrupt my own sleep but such has not been the case.The device appears to be very well-constructed of high quality materials and its design is superb. I do not know if the case is actually constructed from wood but, if it’s not, it’s the best simulated wood I have ever seen or felt.We are both very pleased with this device. There are two recommendations I could make to the manufacturer: 1) I wish its auto-off timer had options of 2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours, instead of 1, 2, or 3 hours (though we have been leaving it on all night - I just turn it off manually in the morning when we wake up), and 2) I wish its power input port were a standard USB C port rather than the non-standard one it uses; the port it uses would make replacing the cord, were it ever necessary, to be very difficult.However, regarding the last suggestion, the included power cord seems to be very robust and, as we take good care of our devices, I am sure that the cord will last for the life of the machine (which I hope is a very long time).I especially like the fact that it runs solely on AC power and has no built-in non-replaceable battery. (When those batteries "die" in some device - and they WILL die eventually - that's the end of the device, even if it is still working well.)Not that this attribute is too important to us, but this machine has many more (and many more good) sound options than any of the others at which I looked. (Of course the one we use is my wife's pick.)As I mentioned above, we are very pleased with this white noise machine and I will VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT to you.Especially at its price, just $26.99, Amazon's current price, I regard this machine as a genuine bargain.If you need or just want a well-made and well-designed white noise machine, I hope you'll consider this one. This is the best white noise machine ever. Looks great, but besides that, it has so many options. I like to sleep with a fan on but sometimes there is a pulsating noise that irritates me. With this sound machine I can turn up the volume to drown that out. I love that you can let it go as long as you want (some phone apps have automatic shut offs). Small enough to pack on trips too. Great product!

I'm very pleased with this product. I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer earlier this year. Taking care of my body including getting good sleep is my priority! I chose ocean waved. Very relaxing & comforting!

First used this sound machine in an Vrbo. I love the sound of ocean waves crashing & this machine works great for that! I added it my cart after my first night & have been using it every night since. Its small so does not take much room at all on a nightstand. Has a timer button with multiple settings. Also has multiple different sounds, however iI only use the ocean waves crashing. Aids in the best quality sleep I've ever had in a long time.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Chose to return the item because it does not hold a charge and must be plugged in at all times. Otherwise, it is nice looking and the sounds seem fine.

This speaker is the best. I have tinnitus, and can't always sleep with a fan on because I get cold. This speaker helps a lot. Easy to move, no batteries necessary it's a plug in and it also has a timer on it. They buttons are easy to use

Love this white noise machine. On nights I have trouble falling asleep I turn it on to a sound that is soothing (many choices) and I, my husband and our two dogs are out like a light. It offers volume control and buttons are easily pushed. The price is amazingly low for such comfort. Great variety!

I had to move into an apartment after house living and I thought I was going to lose my mind sharing paper-thin walls with neighbors. I can hear everything — including bathroom visits. This product is a lifesaver. Granted it doesn't cover the loud booms of slamming doors, but I no longer hear talking or TV or them moving around. I can watch my own TV without hearing theirs — and know that my noises are covered, too. The volume control and timer are great features for nighttime. I set it before going to bed and it turns off after I'm fast asleep.
