So I don’t smoke cigarettes, but I do drink a lot of coffee. And I’m also obsessed with dental health. As someone who used to work for a major dental supply company (I won’t say which, but they didn’t carry this mind-blowing product!), I know more about teeth than your average person. I heard rumors about ultraSOUND (NOT ultrasonic) toothbrushes for years, but as none of the three major manufacturers were available in the U.S., I never knew anyone who actually used one. When my electric toothbrush finally kicked the bucket after a seven-year relationship, I was hesitant to fork over the cash for this but curiosity got the best of me so I put my skepticism aside and bit the bullet. BEST DECISION EVER. Let me tell you ladies and gents, the hype is REAL. When I first used the brush, I was underwhelmed and kind of upset that I spent so much on a device that didn’t live up to expectations. It didn’t seem to do any better than a manual toothbrush and it barely vibrated. Worse, the light started turning red and the toothbrush would turn off despite being fully charged. I reached out to the seller about a refund and after some troubleshooting, realized I appeared to be given the wrong toothbrush head attachment with my initial purchase. Fortunately, I purchased a bunch of replacement heads on my own as backups and realized they looked different. I put the correct attachment on my brush and HOLY MOLY. 10 years of coffee stains - gone with a single use. I floss daily, but the brush managed to shake loose some food particles that regular dental floss couldn’t reach. The best part: no “brushing” required. You just rest the bristles against your teeth and the vibrations do all the work. This brush is a life-saver for sensitive teeth and gums. My husband was just diagnosed with gum disease and I plan to get him an Emmi-dent as soon as possible. Also, the seller provided A+ customer service and is replacing the faulty brush head at no extra cost. If you’re on the fence about buying this brush, just do it. It will be the best $250 you’ve ever spent.

Wow. ✨ The first time I turned these on, I was just blown away. I disabled the vibration function (it doesn't do anything for your teeth), so they are totally silent when running. It honestly feels like something out of Star Trek. My teeth just magically get clean by touching them with this magic wand. German engineering, y'all. 🇩🇪 A few tips for the new owner: — DO NOT use this like a regular toothbrush. You want to be SUPER gentle. Brush by *gently* moving the bristle tips across the teeth (I've found it best to go from root to tip, about 2 seconds per tooth. I ruined a replacement head by pressing too hard. If the bristles are soft, they work about 30-50% as well. ☁️ — I find I generally enjoy brushing longer (like 5-7) minutes with these. I don't know if this is necessary, but it feels like the right amount of time. ⏳ — The "Fresh Professional" is the only Emmi-Dent toothpaste worth buying. The "Whitening" doesn't do anything, the "Nature" tastes HORRIBLE, and I don't even wanna try the "Nature Calcium." 🤮 — You don't need to keep this on the charging stand! In fact, I found that on a *single* overnight charge, the brush lasts THREE WEEKS. WHAT? Incredible. 🔋 I was advised to get an Ultrasonic toothbrush by my dentist because of gum recession due to overbrushing. My gums seem great after using the Emmi-Dent for 5+ months. We'll see if I get a good review when I go back for my next cleaning. 🤞

While I initially liked this toothbrush because of how clean it gets your teeth, the toothbrush itself is an epic fail! This is the second one of these I have ordered and BOTH times the toothbrush, for whatever reason, simply dies! :( …Customer service for this company is nonexistent and it’s impossible to get through to them. So, for the exorbitant price of this toothbrush and the amount of time it actually works (usually less than a year), I would NOT be spending my heard earned cash on this one! :(

After reading the product information online I thought that this was going to be another toothbrush system that would end up on a shelf, with a heavy pricetag to remind me of my foolishness. At 77 years of age my dental hygenist told me that I had to work harder to get the plaque out of the tooth pockets, or I would start seeing more gum problems, and especially bleeding of the gums. I took the $500 (Canadian) plunge and ordered the Emmi-dent ultrasonic set with extra brush heads and a multi-pack of toothpaste. After the first use I am only sorry that I didn't find this sooner. If anyone thinks, as I did, that this cannot be as advanced as it sounds, I am saying that it is better, I repeat "better" than I thought possible. I am now planning next December's christmas present to a relative's family with 3 youngsters. They will be skeptical, for sure; then I will let the product WOW them as it did me. Best toothbrush I have ever owned. As a medical professional and engineer, I have done extensive work with ultrasound technology. Upon learning about the Emmi-dent Oral Waver ultrasound toothbrush, I immediately realized that it would be the answer to cleaning my teeth following chemo and radiation for head and neck cancer, which rendered extremely sensitive oral tissues with high likelihood of caries. Ultrasound technology is multimodal. In this application, ultrasound has the ability to clean surfaces gently and thoroughly without mechanical damage that can occur with manual and other electric toothbrushes. I highly recommend the Emmi-dent toothbrush, especially for patients with sensitive oral tissues after chemo and radiation for head and neck cancer. My last dental checkup revealed no calculus and no caries. Superb outcome.

Bin sehr zufrieden, ist bereits das zweite Gerät. Das erste war eine Emmi Dent, die haben wir schon länger. Deswegen wollten wir mal eine neue. Wir sind mit der neue sehr zufrieden.

Die ersten Geräte dieser Art waren zuvor eher handlich. Die aktuelle Ausgabe hat sehr viele Nachteile, besonders, was das Design betrifft. Eine recht unhandliche, kantige Obelisk-ähnliche Zahnbürstenform, die nach dem Einschalten mit vier LEDs ununterbrochen hell blinkt, was schon einer lustigen Partybeleuchtung gleichkommt und beim Zähnereinigen wirklich sehr stört. Besonders, wenn man auf Campingreisen ist und eventuell in der Dämmerung mit der Reinigung beginnt, haut es einem im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die Augen ein. Ergänzend wird man beim Aufladen noch mit blau und rot leuchtenden LEDs aufmerksam gemacht. Und das alles lässt sich auch nicht abschalten. Ich fragte mich, wozu all dieser technische, überflüssige Aufwand, der ohnedies nur eine leichte Ultraschall-Reinigung vollbringt, was man mit anders vibrierenden elektr. Zahnbürsten vielleicht nicht so gut zusammenbringt. Da genügt doch schon eine einzige Farb-LED am unteren Stielrand, die den Betriebszustand, auch ohne zu blinken „normal“ anzeigen kann. Wozu also diese hellen Leuchteffekte in Augennähe? Der Bürstengriff hat mit Zähneputzen symbolartig nichts mehr zu tun und erinnert vielleicht auch noch an eine Rakete vor dem Start mit blinkendem Countdown. Eine Zahnbürste muss sich in der Hand auch angenehm rund anfühlen und beim Bürstenkopf vielleicht gar noch etwas elastisch, wie es bei guten Zahnbürsten der Fall ist, um die Borsten nicht zu stark andrücken zu können. Dieses Modell einer „Zahnbürste“ fühlt sich eher wie ein Besenstiel im Mund an. LEIDER deshalb, weil sich die Ingenieure der Ultraschalltechnik besondere Mühe gaben, ein einzigartiges Produkt der Zahnhygiene bereitzustellen. Die Ultraschallwirkung über dem eingebauten Resonator unterhalb der Bürsten wirkt zwar etwas, ist zudem aber in der Mundhöhle auch nicht besonders aktiv, weil der optimale Abstand erst bei zirka 50 mm gegeben ist, wie eigene Messungen ergaben. Die Ultraschallwirkung ist außerdem nur dann erst wirkungsvoll, wenn sie mit der optional dazugehörigen, eigens entwickelten Zahnpaste (gleicher Firmenname) angewendet wird. Also irgendwie empfindet man das als Abzocke. Eine sehr ausführliche technische und zu handhabende Beschreibung (in Schriftgröße 6 Pt) liegt bei, die zum besseren Verständnis insgesamt beitragen sollte. Recht fummelig ist der Ein- und Abschaltvorgang des ergänzenden Vibrationsmotors, der noch dazu keine besonders wirksame Funktion hat. Dabei stellt sich dem Anwender wohl die Frage, welcher Geräteteil hier für’s Zähneputzen noch wirklich sinnvoll ist. Wird Ultraschall bei der Vibration auch aktiviert oder was geschieht, wenn der Motor abgeschaltet wird? Jedenfalls etwas zu kompliziert im Handling. Noch dazu ergibt der wohl sehr überhöhte Preis in der Summe aus meiner Sicht eigentlich null Punkte und damit ist die Spezialzahnbürste leider nicht empfehlenswert.

Ein super System. Deutlich leiser und somit angenehmer!!! Klasse Weiterentwicklung!!!

Die emmi-DENT Ultraschall Zahnbürste hat mich ehrlich gesagt nicht wirklich überzeugt. Was mir direkt aufgefallen ist: Plaque wird nicht besonders gut entfernt. Im Vergleich zu anderen elektrischen Zahnbürsten habe ich nicht das Gefühl, dass die Reinigung wirklich gründlicher ist. Positiv ist allerdings, dass sie sehr schonend zum Zahnfleisch ist. Allerdings liegt genau da auch mein Zweifel: Man merkt kaum Bewegung, sie vibriert nur kurz pro Stelle. Dadurch habe ich manchmal das Gefühl, dass eventuell gar nicht so viel passiert. Auch die Ladestation finde ich unpraktisch. Sie ist sehr leicht und wenn das Kabel ungünstig liegt, kann sie schnell herunterfallen – vor allem mit aufgesteckten Bürsten. Ein weiterer großer Nachteil: Man kann sie nur mit der speziellen emmi-DENT Zahnpasta verwenden. Das ist im Alltag unpraktisch, z. B. im Urlaub oder wenn sie leer ist. Dazu kommt der hohe Preis, der meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz gerechtfertigt ist. Was mich zusätzlich unsicher macht: Die Bürste blinkt nur und leuchtet nicht dauerhaft, und laut Hersteller soll sie trotzdem funktionieren. Das fühlt sich für mich nicht ganz überzeugend an. Fazit: Sehr sanft zum Zahnfleisch, aber für mich keine überzeugende Alternative zu normalen elektrischen Zahnbürsten.
