The rail was added to the center of the pool stairs to supplement the side rails, which were hard to hold onto. In our case, we had the landscaper install the handrail by lifting our existing pavers, extending the ground cable from one of the other railings. The hole that was dug was about 18”x 30” by 15” deep below the pavers. Concrete was poured into a wire mesh and inserts were installed that the legs of the railing slip into, allowed to dry for two days and covered with sand and then the pavers.
