Works well for trigger finger!
I slowly developed trigger finger in my left middle and ring fingers over the past few months. I had hoped it would go away on its own, but my fingers became locked in a bent position more often and it was increasingly difficult to straighten them. I purchased these splints as a first measure in order to avoid steroid injection or release surgery. Each splint comes in two sizes - one opening is the regular size and the other opening is a half size bigger (i.e. Size 8 = one side is an 8 and the other is 8.5). To use it for trigger finger, you place the brace on top of the PIP (1st) joint with the opening underneath the finger. I used a ring sizer to measure my finger sizes prior to purchasing. If you are unsure about your size, purchase the combo pack of three sizes. In terms of using them, I've worn them for several weeks now and they are great! I love that I can comfortably wear them throughout the day and can even wash my hands or wear them in the shower. Try that with a velcro or padded splint and you'll have to worry about drying them. The splints keep my fingers from locking, but I can still somewhat bend my fingers and this allows me to grab onto objects with a diameter of 2.5" or bigger. This will vary based on the size of your hand, but I can still pick up my water bottle with the splints on. It does, however, prevent me from grasping onto the steering wheel in my car but I have learned to use my other fingers to wrap around it. Overall, I've noticed that my PIP joints are less swollen and I can easily remove the splints if I feel like massaging my fingers. If you are on the borderline of what kind of splint to buy, I highly recommend trying these!

Funny how that happens when you work for yourself
I got two sets of these trying them for the first time I didn't even know these existed but on a whim I thought I'd look up finger splints and found them. I have trigger finger in 6 fingers and as a computer guy i'm working at my desk 17 hours a day, 7 days a week. no days off. Funny how that happens when you work for yourself. Anyway, i was skeptical but after a little time, i'm completely sold. The ONLY complaints i have are the following. 1. order 1 size up from what you think. learned this the hard way 2. My ring finger on my left hand is the worst one, and it stinks because it's right between a 9 and a 10. 9 is too tight and causes my finger to swell at night, and a 10 is loose (yes even if i turn it around backwards) and I have to tape it in place to keep it from falling off at night. I NEED a 9.5 What shocked me is after awhile, I can take them off once i get going in the morning an the trigger finger is gone. Now, don't get me wrong, if I leave them off it comes back, but it most definitely helps, and is a thousand times more effective than taping was. I'm sold on these. problem is the reality is that I will need surgery on at least 6 fingers and can't even afford it on one. EDIT: I purchased these in January 2016. it's not October 2016. I wore them for a couple months. I left this review after a few weeks. Since posting this review i wanted to follow up. I wore these until the trigger finger went away completely, which it did. It's now 10 months after buying them, maybe 6.5 months since using them, and my trigger finger in ALL SIX fingers has not returned. Well i shouldn't say completely. there is a TINY bit in my right index finger, but it's so little it doesn't even bother me. it came back a month ago, but it hasn't gotten worse. These things are so simple but SO effective. if you have trigger finger and don't try them you're shorting yourself. You owe it to your own peace of mind to try them. What the heck, buy just one and try it. if they work but them for the rest of the problematic fingers. I can't even begin to express how glad I am I got them

Good for wet work, for short periods.
Fine for short periods, but uncomfortable for long periods, especially overnight. I find I use them when my hands need to be wet or messy, but use a Handfix splint most of the day. In combination, the two are workable. I have a ring size of 8, but fortunately ordered the 8,9,10 combination pack. The 8 is too small, the 9 is ok, and the 10 is the most comfortable and still works. The 10 may be too big, however, as I seem to have lost it -- it may have fallen off at some point without my noticing it. I'm using these to try to resolve a trigger finger problem, but I'm told it takes months, so can't report on effectiveness yet.

WONDERFUL PRODUCT
I love these splints! I have had multiple trigger fingers over the years, always treated either with a cortocosteroid injection, except once when that didn't work so I had to have surgery. Neither my orthopedist nor my rheumatologist ever mentioned that a splint could drastically reduce my pain, and might even make injections and/or surgery unnecessary! I have had significant pain from my current trigger finger (right ring finger) for over 6 months now. I went and had one steroid injection which helped, but only briefly and then the pain came back worse than ever. I was about to give in and arrange for surgery when I saw these splints. With the splint on, my pain is reduced drastically -- over 95% to where I can just ignore it. I like that it is plastic and flesh colored---no one notices it and I can wear it 24/7 without worrying about getting it wet or keeping it clean. Don't know if the problem will completely go away by splinting for a while, but I could go on indefinitely wearing this splint with no problem. As for sizing, you don't really need to have a ring sizer or one of those paper sizers printed from online. All I did was to take a soft plastic tape measure I already had and measured my finger around the largest part of the joint I am splinting, and compared it to the size of the splint listed in inches. Here is the link to where you can either get a sizer to print, or on the next page it will tell you how many inches each size works for: http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/30688/docs/oval8_sizing_guide_final_july_2013.pdf Wish I had found these finger splints YEARS ago--would have saved me from going through so much pain. ( Never occurred to me that these might really work since I had had carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, and wrist splints never worked for that, but these sure do work for trigger finger.)

Trigger thumb is healing thanks to this!
After researching trigger thumb issues for about a week, I came across a great YouTube video with advice to heal a trigger thumb (or finger) without the cortisone shot or surgery. It takes 6 weeks and I'm about halfway there. It's truly working. Every time you pop the thumb or finger, it becomes a little worse, so don't let it pop! I wear a full on brace at night and I wear this Oval-8 splint during the day. I remove it periodically and bend the thumb around at the joints using my opposite hand. For some reason, if the good hand moves the injured thumb, it won't pop. The idea is to keep it loose. Also there are exercises you can do to keep the muscles in the injured hand good. You can find those online. Just don't let the thumb pop. As for this Oval 8 guard, it's the best! I love that I can get it wet, but the thumb never pops. Showering and working in the kitchen had been a challenge since wearing a brace there was impossible. I do turn the Oval-8 slightly numerous times throughout the day, just to make sure I don't wear a callous or blister. That's no big deal. Also, the package with 3 sizes has been great. There have been times when my thumb felt a bit swollen and having the next size up was convenient. I almost feel like I could use my thumb, but the video warned against being tempted to test it out. Popping it can set back your progress. I don't plan to try it out til the 6 week mark. By the way, in case anyone is interesting, the name of the video I watched is - Trigger Thumb Tips + Tricks: Home Exercises, Splinting, and Massage. She specifically mentions this Oval 8 splint, which is how I came to try it out. She also explains the stretches much better than I did.

Its ok for Trigger thumb, not a great fit, would be better for other fingers
I needed this for Trigger thumb. I had been wearing a big ace bandage type of splint thing but wanted something smaller and washable. The pain in the thumb is on the base. The splint hits it at that spot and is sore. I spun the splint around a bit so it doesn't hit that spot, but the size 9 is too tight, the size 10 slips off. I measured my thumb joint and it measured as a size 8 at exactly 2.5 inches..good thing I bought the 3 pack as the size 8 doesn't fit at all. I needed to secure this with a piece of exercise stretch tape. I'm not sure how I feel about it at this point as the size isn't quite great for my weird sized thumb. (You can wear each splint different ways, upside down, etc...tried it all).It does however prevent the thumb from bending, which is the point. Its well made, heavy duty piece of plastic, not flexible, you wont break it. For other fingers this would be a much better fit. If you have Trigger thumb get the soft sided thumb splints instead for better comfort. I think I'll switch between this plastic and the soft side. I wanted something I could wash my hands with as I work in a school which is a germ fest! :) You can get the Kinesiology tape wet so..I'll see how it goes. Not exactly what I wanted..but beats surgery! :)

Keeps everything in place
Finger splints can be a game-changer for those suffering from finger injuries or conditions such as arthritis. I recently purchased a set of finger splints and was pleasantly surprised by how effective they were in reducing pain and improving mobility. The splints were easy to apply and adjust, and the lightweight material made them comfortable to wear throughout the day. I also appreciated the different sizes included in the set, allowing me to find the perfect fit for each finger. Overall, I highly recommend finger splints to anyone looking for relief from finger pain or injuries. They are an affordable and non-invasive solution that can make a significant difference in everyday life.

Excellent for trigger thumb
I developed trigger thumb and had a bit of pain. I started wearing a big brace that was awkward and bulky. I found mention of this product on a physical therapy site. I ordered and it is wonderful. The sizing chart is accurate. The brace is small and comfortable. I can sleep in the brace with no problem. Due to the size and design of the brace I can still use my thumb and I can wash my hands with it on. It will be so much easier to wear this brace for the recommended 6 to 8 weeks! The pain is pretty much resolved. I would recommend for anyone looking for a brace for trigger thumb.

Easy to slip on and off, comfortable to wear. Does the job.
Using it for trigger thumb. Different sizes are useful. At night I change it out for one of the larger sizes.
