The Monticello cedar wood swing set has all the features of more expensive outdoor swing sets at a terrific value. It has a raised play fort with a wooden roof, and end gables. A raised sun porch is the perfect platform for first checking out the yard from above and then launching down the 8' Super Safe Speedy Slide. Two ladders, a standard and an open rock wall, let kids climb at their own pace, their own way. A set of monkey bars let them fly high. There's also a wooden swing set with two belt swings and trapeze swing for even more fun. Below there's a snack stand covered by a stylish pergola, built-in toy box, and even room for a sand box. The Monticello will last for years and will be the envy of your neighborhood. Upper deck height: 4'

Solid play set.
Play set is solid. Very solid. Don't listen to the folks saying the wood feels flimsy. It's cedar, so it's not dense, but naturally resistant to rot. Took me 3 days to put together, but that was with working by myself, in between rain storms. It's manageable doing it alone, but I'd recommend a helping hand if possible, for some parts at least. Manufacturer includes some extra bolts, nuts and other hardware incase you need them, came in handy when I stripped out a t-nut (my own fault). All parts are labeled with a part number. Instructions are clear. Overall great product. No missing pieces at all. Would definitely recommend.

Waste Of money
This product is poorly designed!! The wood is very cheap and most of the pieces were already cracked upon opening the boxes up!! It's very little and it's really only fit for ages 2-5 year old... Please do not buy this swing set hoping to put it together in a nick of time!!! There's many parts and most of them you'll have to readjust in order to make them fit!! I spent $860.00 on this and I'm very unsatisfied!! The set looks great once put together, but looks are deceiving!!

Price does not always rflect quality.
For the most part the directions for assembly were very well done. After we completed the assembly the playset looked exactly like the picture on the instructions. With that said, I must say the quality of the materials was not at all what I expected. I find it necessary to add stronger supports in various locations so that I will be comfortable with allowing children to use this structure. After opening the shipping cartons and sorting out all the parts I discovered splits in some of the wood. While assembling I found several of the factory drilled holes did not even come close to being in alignment with the intended mating holes. It was necessary for me to drill or modify the factory parts in order for it to be assembled correctly. When finished with assembly and securing with the hold down stakes provided, the structure still was quite wobbly. hence the needed extra support.

My son's new happy place
With two power drills (one died halfway through) and two fairly handy men (one being an engineer that overcomplicated the entire process) we put this together in about 8 1/2 to 9 hours going at a reasonable pace but nothing super fast. We laid all the pieces out so they would be easy to find along with hardware etc. so it was smooth on that end. Directions are a little complicated but it's a complicated process. I think anyone that has enough time can put this together. There are a few parts that require two adults, but overall I could have done it in a weekend by myself. Boards are fairly thin but everything appears to be cedar.. smells great when you open the box. the slide was the only part that had us scratching our heads for a minute. There is a solid plastic piece that has to be crammed into the two plastic sides then screwed into place and bent on the bottom.. not hard.. just really look at the instructions closely and don't try to "wing it." My son won't come down out of it, just goes up the stairs, down the slide.. repeat.. for 30 minutes at a time.. Best baby sitter I ever bought :)

Blah
We received two 1 of 2 boxes and never received the 2 of 2 box and one box was busted open while pieces were literally falling out in the delivery truck. There were missing pieces and some of the boards were splitting and looked pretty flimsy so we didn’t even bother to exchange. We decided to spend extra money and buy a swing set made locally with better materials. If you can afford it, I would recommend buying a better swing set, if not and you get all your pieces and the correct boxes, then I’m sure this will be just fine. If we had received everything, we probably would’ve kept it and repaired or replaced the boards that needed to be replaced.

Good product!
The playset went up easily for my husband and one other. They sorted pieces, assembled sections, and built it within about 9 hours (both men are very handy)... My only complaint would be that I wish the wood was a bit thicker. It's definitely sturdy enough, especially for my young grandchildren, but it would have made the playset a 5 star build if the wood planks were thicker.

Boards had split and were glued back together by the company.
My daughter love this playset we just got it put up yesterday. But some of the bolts were missing and some of the boards split and you could tell they were obviously glued back together. The wood isn't treated so when it gets warm well have to treat it ourselves. It took almost 10 hours with 3 people putting this together. The boards are not as sturdy and thick like I thought they would be, but over all my 2 year old loves this. If she was older I probably would have ordered something bigger it's not as big as I thought it was going to be.

Schedule 2-3 days to assemble with a friend
Requires a good effort to sort the different parts: the wood, the screws. MUST have a power tool; don't use the hand-tool provided.....you'll never get it done. The "cedar" finish started coming off immediately. Wood is very soft. After a year, the slide is cracked.
