When you want a mild onion flavor chives is a good choice. It is milder than green onions. So if you want just a hint of onion flavor choose chives. Quick note- other bolder seasonings may mask the presence of chives since it is mild in flavorBon Appétit

I've tried a lot of freeze-dried chives. These are outstanding -- they taste, smell, and look like chives! The quality is uniformly high, the chives are excellent both when added during cooking and also as a garnish, and container is the standard easy-to-store, easy-to-use McCormick Culinary plastic bottle.

This was a good deal but it didn’t taste like cilantro to me. I expected it to have a milder form of that unique cilantro flavor. For me it didn’t. It just tasted “green” like you knew I was a plant but couldn’t tell if it was grass or herbs or tea. I had bought it to make some camping meals w another freeze dried product but I didn’t end up using it. Customer service was good though. I guess cilantro doesn’t have the same flavor profile when the moisture is removed

I like this product good for the price.
