Awesome Sketchbook. It has good quality pages and 180 GSM is just perfect. I love drawing in this note. This cannot withstand watercolor But it is durable. It is easy to use as well

4.5 Stars A late discovery on my part, had seen quite a handful of artists rave about it. So, finally gave in to the temptation and boy, do I love it! The book is compact and since hard-case bound, doesn't wear easily and comes in such beautiful colours, such an add on for people like me who find it very alluring at first look. It also lays flat which is another brownie point - It really is a pain to paint when it doesn't lay flat, it's my major pet peeve about a sketchbook. Additionally, it has acid free paper which ensures your paintings don't turn yellow over time, which is a great feature for a sketchbook. Apart from these, the 180 gsm takes on quite a beating of various media. I have worked with some 200gsm papers which doesn't measure up to half of what the menorah sketchbook takes on. For this particular painting I used a mix of various wet media, watercolour brush pens, gouache, watercolours - though it wasn't a heavy watercolour wash per se, it held its own. I over painted in gouache a couple of times on the left corner to cover up a mistake, and surprisingly the paper didn't peel, just a wee bit of pilling which is but natural to expect from a 180 gsm. The paper quality is bang on. It also has 100 pages which is on an average is more than most Internationally available sketchbooks as well. Lastly but not the least, all these features at 439/- is such a steal when most reputed sketchbooks cost an arm and a leg. This allows you to experiment without having to worry about running through the pages quickly. They also have various sizes to suit your needs. This is a great buy for beginners and artists wanting to experiment. The only bone to pick if I have any is I wish they had a soft bound version available as well, as it is much easier to carry around.
