what does a blinking (or flashing) F mean?

This device is basically two push/press instrument - the first push/press turns the device on and results in the blinking (or flashing) F. The second (and subsequent) push/press does the actual measurement.

Why does this thermometer read 159.6 as my temperature and the screen is blue - not red yellow or green. I changed the batteries and still gives this

If it keeps reading that temperature then just send it back to amazon.

How do you get the covere off so that I can use the ear probe.

I didn’t go that far I had to return it because it didn’t change the colors and didn’t read the temperature right to begin with. It was reading 130F 180 some numbers like that didn’t make sense.
